A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHER
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Howdy fellow Imaniacs and welcome to the pre-holidays issue of the newsletter!

First a bit of newsletter business; although the newsletter is normally published bi-weekly, the next issue will be a tad late. The reason, you ask? I will be in Michigan visiting family on the 26th when the next one is due and will have no computer access! I promise to send it out as soon as I possibly can (after I finish playing with all my nifty Christmas gifts, that is :)

Next, I'm hoping that one of you can help me with a small problem? there is a fan club member with the handle thief2663 whose email system rejects the newsletter every time I send it out. I have not seen this person in the chat room myself and wanted to extend a request to all of you; if you know of or run into this person in the chat room, could you please let them know about the problem and ask that if (s)he does indeed wish to receive the newsletter to please contact me at imannewsletter@yahoo.com. I'd hate to think someone is inadvertently being left out on some great chats and merchandise. Thanx everyone!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa or whatever you celebrate! And remember, when your friends and family ask what gifts you'd like, it's not nice to send them on a wild goose chase for "Invisible Man" merchandise that doesn't exist yet... no matter how much you wish it did :)

As always, we welcome any feedback. Just send your comments and suggestions to imannewsletter@yahoo.com.

Gina

GREETINGS AND NEW MEMBERS :

Greetings Fellow Imaniacs!
First, I want to apologize for my relative silence. I know that it seems that at times I've dropped off the face of the planet, but that is not the case. I am EXTRAORDINARILY busy these days. As you know, I work at a bookstore now as a manager and seeing as it's the holiday season *R2 pauses to scream*
I want you all to know that I am still working very hard to ensure continued success of the fan club. You can usually find me either online, emailing or making various and sundry phone calls. I have also had several fellow members approach me with offers to help out and I appreciate that more than you can know. I will need help now more than ever since my attention is now being divided on many fronts. So, to all of you ... THANK YOU!! Do not be surprised if you hear from me in the future!
As is not surprising, our numbers continue to grow .. which I take as a really great sign! We are now up to 127 members!! The newest recruits are : Fawkescrazy1086, Darien's_Chick, Openmind, Fawksielady, KCM and unhinged. Let's give a great big Iman welcome to the wonderful newbies! *R2 does a snoopy dance of joy*

T-SHIRTS

Well -- I have heard from several of you that you have gotten your shirts and that you are pleased with them. I am SO glad to hear that! Shel and I (mostly Shel, though) worked very hard on these shirts, emailing each other with ideas and changes and more ideas. Then with the help of her printer (THANKS BU!!) we got these wonderful pieces of merchandise that we all can wear proudly to show our love of this great show. I, myself, have had SEVERAL people ask me what an "Imaniac" is and when I tell them they express interest and a potential new fan is born. The shirts were shipped out on November 28th, so if you have not as yet received your shirt, please email me and let me know. ESPECIALLY if you have sent me a check!
I know that many of you have told me you have sent your checks or are in the process of doing so, and I appreciate that. I have no problem with that. There are still 11 members that I have not received payment from, you know who you guys are, but I will email you individualy :-)
Once we get these wonderful shirt orders taken care of, Shel and I (hopefully) will start working on our new project for merchandise. Don't worry, with the holidays and everything these won't be available until next year (possibly January or February) so you can all pay off your credit card bills and everything *g* Anyway, they will be an "All I Need to Know In Life I Learned From Watching I-Man" with the Imaniacs logo on the front. These shirts will be WAY COOL!! My cousin Kaat (hey babe!) and I spent several hours on the phone coming up with this nugget and I'm sure you guys will love it.
Heck, it looks great on paper!! Also, LoganLover and I are working on getting the counteragent pens up and running as well ... so as you can see, we got more going on than SciFi!! We're giving them a run for their money! If I could build action figures .. I'd keep them all to myself. Oh. Wait. Did I type that out loud? *smirk*

FANFIC CONTEST

Okay -- the cutoff date for the fic contest is this Friday, the 15th. Is this a problem for any of you? I know that Ivy, I believe, told me that she has a problem with this because she is moving and everything. If you guys need another week LET ME KNOW!! I have NO PROBLEM extending it so each story and poem can get your full attention! With the holidays and school finals and parties and everything, time is limited. If you need an extension, for goodness sakes tell me!! Also, I did get several emails informing me that the polls had screwed up and that some stories had been omitted. Thanks to Lauren for jumping on that and fixing the problem for me while I was in New York *R2 hugs Lauren*
We have some great stories going on in the contest, many of them have had me crying and laughing out loud! If you haven't gone and voted as yet DO IT NOW!!! I am just as anxious as the rest of you to see who the winner of this thing will be, although the winner may have to make a special trip to my house and pry the first place prize from my cold dead hands *g*
Just wanted to let you guys know it's still going on and that if you need more time just drop me a line and tell me so I can get things organized!

UPCOMING CHAT

Well *whew* I'm still talking with Shannon trying to get a time and date for her postponed chat, not surprising the poor woman is VERY busy (going to Australia to start getting ready for the wedding day!!) and we keep missing each other. However, I will keep trying and will keep you informed as to what's going on with that! However, in the interim, we have a GREAT chat lined up for you!! With the help of Helena and KatrynSedai *R2 hugs her fellow angels* we have set up a chat with none other than that loveable lackey MIKE!! WAHOO!! Yeup, Hels and Kat have been in contact with Mike and he has agreed to chat with us near the end of December, around the 29th I do believe. Once the time rolls closer, I will give you all the specifics; chat room, time, date and all that good stuff. However, I want to send out GREAT BIG THANKS to Hels and Kat for jumping in the fray and helping me out with this! Thanks gals, I REALLY
appreciate it!! The chat with Mike is sure to be a scream, he is a great guy, lots of fun and VERY funny! You will all have a blast, I promise you that.

NEW CONTEST

Okay -- now, this is still in the planning stages, however Hobbesaholic and I are trying to get a Paul Ben-Victor contest up and running on her PBV website. Once it is up and active, I will have a link to it on my
site for easy access as well. This contest will be LOADS of fun, and yes, we will make you work for the prizes! It will come in three parts : Match 'Em Up, Name That Actor and Death Remembered. Now, you WILL have to be familiar with most, if not all, of Paul's work in order to win. With Match 'Em Up you will have to match a line that Paul said to the movie that he said it in. One side of the page will be the line he said, on the other side of the page will be a mix up of movies -- your job will be to match the movie to the line. In Name That Actor, I will have a list of actors/actresses that Paul has worked with at least twice in 2 different movies. Your job will be to name those 2 movies next to each actor/actress that Paul has worked with. Finally, in Death Remembered, Paul has died in many of his movies, usually in the most unusual ways. I will have a funny description of the death Paul suffered, your job is to name the movie the death occurred in.
Believe me, this will not happen until next year. Lauren and I are still working on this FanFic contest and Hobbesaholic and I are still in the early planning stages of this latest contest. Besides, this will most likely take at LEAST a month to finish. As details become more hammered out I will keep you all informed. Again, big thanks to Lori for agreeing to this venture, it promises to be great fun!!

SO!! Think I have enough planned out for all of you?? Are you excited? OMG have you SEEN the previews for January?? Oh Lord ... can I fast forward thru December yet?? *ack*
Alright guys, go enjoy the rest of this newsletter -- until next time
.?

SPOTLIGHT ON:
Paul Ben-Victor Online
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

If Paul Ben-Victor, who plays our favorite paranoid agent Bobby Hobbes, is one of your favorite actors, then you're going to love "Paul Ben-Victor Online" at http://www.geocities.com/paul_ben_victor/ designed by Lori Swanson.

Some of the highlights of this site include a photo gallery of Hobbes pictures as well as one of Paul in various roles, a links page with a very cool constant picture rotation, links to interviews and articles about Paul accompanied by matching graphics, and scanned photos of Paul that he sent to lucky Lori, which include his very appreciative sentiments and his autograph.

You'll also find a page of Paul's acting credits, which are accompanied by matching graphics as well. As an extension of this page, there is an entire area dedicated to ABC's very successful "The Three Stooges" movie in which Paul played Moe Howard. Besides a description of the movie, it also includes quite a few wacky pictures and links you to reviews and even a streaming video interview with Paul.

Finally, if polls are your thing, you'll love the Bobby Hobbes poll. It's short and sweet with great questions and multiple-choice options. Once you finish the poll, you'll see the current results page, which shows you everything you could possibly want to see: the number of votes per option, each option's percentage and even a nifty bar graph.

Before you leave, be sure to sign the guest book to let Lori know just how great you think the site is!

SOUND OFF!
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

In this section of the newsletter we offer all of you the opportunity to give us your opinion on various Invisible Man subjects.

Before we get into the new topic, let's check out the results of the last "Sound Off". If you remember, I asked you to choose your favorite "Invisible Man" snack food: hot donuts, yogurt or pastrami on rye. The results were that no one remembers liking pastrami on rye and almost everyone prefers hot donuts, even if they are bad for us!

New Topic:
What "Invisible Man" footwear do you like best? Is it Darien's Adidas high tops? Or do you prefer his Halloween-looking black and orange sneakers? Maybe you're into Hobbes' stylish cowboy boots? Or perhaps you're partial to the vulnerable look of Hobbes' hospital slippers?

You can Sound Off by sending your choice (as difficult as it may be, please choose only one) to imannewsletter@yahoo.com by December 25th and be sure to put the words "Sound Off" in the subject of your email.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

In this section of the newsletter you get the chance to get your creative juices flowing and write the next part of an ongoing story. Below, you'll find the story so far. Your mission, should you choose to accept it (unlike The Official, we give you the choice :), is to write the next part of the story in about 125 words or less. It'll be a tough choice, but I will pick one submission and post it in the next newsletter and continue from there. Ready? Here goes!

The teaser:
Darien was a happy guy. He had just gotten a shot of counteragent and wouldn't need a new one for a while, things were quiet at the agency, and most importantly, he was going to spend a nice relaxing evening at home with a home-made meal and his favorite book "The Story of Philosophy: The Lives and Opinions of the World's Greatest Philosophers". "It doesn't get any better than this", he thought as he headed toward his apartment with a bag of groceries in one arm.
As he unlocked the door, the scene inside made him stop in his tracks. "Aw crap!" he said as the smile disappeared from his face and was replaced by a look of dismay. His apartment had been ransacked and very thoroughly at that. After taking a moment to digest the situation, he walked cautiously into the apartment careful not to step on anything breakable, which had not already been broken, and checked to make sure that whoever made the mess wasn't still there.

Part 2 by R2:
Glass crunched under Darien's feet as he made his way through his destroyed apartment. Nothing had been spared and Darien felt violated. Unknown hands had rifled through his possessions, going over his personal affects. The intruder, or intruders, had been quite thorough. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, his small abode abnormally quiet. With a deep breath, Darien allowed the quicksilver to coat his body, neatly rendering him invisible. If whoever had done this was still here, he saw no need to give them the advantage. There was a small noise from inside the bathroom, Darien's head snapped around at the sound as he began to make his way toward the closed door.

Part 3 by R2
Slowly, Darien reached out and grasped the cold handle in his equally cold hand. Fear and anger were vying for attention, whoever had ransacked his home was still stupid enough to be here. Big mistake.
He flung the door open and blindly launched himself inside, grabbing a stunned individual around their waist. There was a startled shout as he and the intruder fell to the ground in a tangle of arms and legs, Darien could feel them struggling to get out from under him and he knew that he had the upper hand.
Darien gripped a flailing hand tightly as he glanced down at the person who had destroyed his apartment. His breath left him in a horrified gasp as he recognized the man, "Hobbes?"

Part 4 by Kathy Czechowski, a.k.a. Hei_Mao
Hobbes snorted, jerking from Darien's grip and standing. "Thanks for the hospitality. Love what
you've done with the place," he said, brushing broken glass from his sleeves.
"What do you mean by that? I didn't do this." Darien's brow furrowed as he let the quicksilver fall
away.
"What, and I did? You called me here."
"No, I didn't." His voice trailed off as he stared at the mess.
"Yeah, you did. You said you wanted to talk to me about something, the door would be unlocked, I
should just walk in. I walked in, and POW! I woke up in here. Then you came barreling in...."
Darien paused, shaking his head. "I didn't call you. This doesn't make sense."
"Right. If someone wanted to frame me for tossing your apartment, why call me here?" Hobbes rubbed the back of his head. A large bruise was rapidly purpling beneath a dozen small cuts. He winced,
mumbling curses.
"Somebody wanted us here at the same time. The mess is just a distraction. Someone wanted us out of the
way," Darien declared.
Hobbes nodded, his expression grim. "I was thinking the same thing."

Part 5 by FawkesFox
Hobbes' cell phone began to ring. He took it out of his pocket and answered it, "Hobbes... What?... Where are you?... Stay there, we're on our way." He hung the phone up and turned to Darien. "There's trouble partner." Hobbes started for the door, Darien following closely behind him. Within minutes they arrived at the Agency. Once they got there, they knocked on the door of Charlie's office. There was no answer so Darien kicked the door in. Inside, Charlie was tied to the chair, a gag in his mouth.
"Hello, Darien." A familiar voice said from behind the door. Darien turned to see the man who was responsible for his brother's death.

Part 6 by Allison Riley
Darien's couldn't speak. He never, in his wildest dreams, thought that Arnaud would come back for a third time. Then, the memories of Kevin dying in his arms came back to him. His speechlessness disappeared. Darien tried to punch Arnaud, but he wasn't quick enough. Arnaud grabbed his fist and squeezed it tightly. Pain rushed through Darien's arm. Then he let go. The pain vanished. Darien ran to the center of the room and quicksilvered. Arnaud just laughed. Darien tried again to punch him, thinking that he couldn't stop his fist this time. But he did. Hobbes had been standing there staring. Now he could see Arnaud holding something in midair. Arnaud squeezed Darien's fist even harder than before. Forcing him to become visible again. Arnaud laughed. "How did he do that?" Darien, Hobbes, and Charlie all said quietly to themselves.
