I-MANICON 2007

The website for I-Manicon 2007 is now up at the fan club website
(http://imaniacs.org/main.htm).

on the registration form and send it in with your payment so we can
get an idea of how many fans are coming. We are still working out
where we will be having lunch and dinner (with the cast), and there
will be a separate form and payment for that. Meals are optional.
Sorry for the delay everyone. Please don’t put off registering for
this event. So far Vince, Paul, Eddie, and Mike are available to
come. Still waiting to hear about Shannon. The website will be
updated as more information becomes available.
One of the events will be a Writing Contest. You don’t have to
attend to win. The rules are:
1. Submissions must be original works related in some way to The
Invisible Man (2000); this may be in theme, use of characters, etc.
However, no flaming of real-life persons or companies associated with
the show, its production, or its airing will be allowed.
2. Submissions may be any style of verse, including songs, short
stories, plays, etc. Submissions must be no longer than 350 words.
3. Entrants must be members of the I-Maniacs, a.k.a. The Invisible
Man Fan Club.
4. Submissions should be sent to I_Man_Poetry@
yahoo.com as e-mail
attachments in Microsoft Word document format (.doc extension), 1
poem per page. "I-Man Poetry Contest" should be in the subject line,
or the e-mail may be mistaken as spam and discarded.
5. Entrants may submit as many original works as they like.
6. Entrants should be sure to include a cover sheet for each entry,
with the title of their entry, and their name or handle as they would
like it to appear on any awards certificate, list of winners, or
publication. Judging will be anonymous, so please don’t put your name
or handle on your entry.
7. All persons submitting work agree to allow, without monetary
remuneration, their submissions to be printed, published online, or
otherwise distributed by the contest coordinators, including officers
of the I-Maniacs, a.k.a. The Invisible Man Fan Club, and members of
the club who actually work on the I-Man Poetry Contest before,
during, and/or after I-ManiCon 2007, in perpetuity. All persons
submitting work retain the right to print, publish, or otherwise
distribute their submissions in any form they may choose.
8. Submissions are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on July 9, 2007 to
allow time for printing. Submissions received after this date will be
excluded. Submissions will be judged at I-ManiCon 2007 in Los Angeles
on July 21. Entrants need not be present to win.
9. Submissions must be rated G, PG, or PG-13; anything excessively
vulgar or explicit will not be considered for the contest or for
publication. Mild profanity may be allowed if it fits within the
context of the poem, to be determined by the contest coordinator. The
GD, F and S words are forbidden; all others will be considered on a
case-by-case situation. The safest way to avoid this problem is to
avoid this kind of language. "Crap" is not profanity.
10. These rules subject to updating or clarification, so please check
back from time to time to make sure there have been no changes;
entrants will be notified via e-mail if any important changes occur
after they submit, but it should not affect their entries.

MIKE MCCAFFERTY NEWS

Hello team,
Sadly, L33t Haxxors 4 did not win the final contest on Acceptable TV
because, well, we got hacked.
The winner, a good friend of mine who is also the creator of the
wildly popular “Chad Vader” series, posted on his site that his show
was up for voting. Ambitious readers, noting that voting was
unlimited, took that to heart and set up autoclicking programs to rig
the game. We tried to fight it with our own ballot stuffing but in
the last hours of voting, we lost by 2%. Ugh.
I mention L33t here because as writer and co-director of the past 3
episodes I’ve definitely started to mold the duo of Overlord and
Razorwire to resemble Fawkes and Hobbes, respectively. I think
they’re really starting to hit their stride and hopefully we’ll shoot
a few more of these. Take another look and see if you can spot the
similarities.
Also, check out the last three episodes of Mr. Sprinkles. I did the
voice of Agent Pedone, who works for Homeland Security. I was
surprised that the animation looked a lot like Eberts! I hadn’t even
thought about that until I saw the first episode and then it hit me
that this could be Eberts, post 9/11. Admittedly, a harsher, no
nonsense version, but hey, it’s been quite a few years since we’ve
seen him so who knows?
As far as the I-Man, well, you know the story thus far. I’d love to
get the cast together for a little I-man short in the vein of the
Star Trek online series that use Trek talent. It’d be a non-profit
fan film, maybe something to jump start the whole process of a
feature. I dunno, if you all support this, maybe you should post
comments and let me know.
Having said that, I support Amanda’s quest to bring us all back to
the big screen somehow. She’s tireless and fearless, both of which
are crucial in the battle against Hollywood. I know she’ll succeed
someday, when is the million dollar question.

FAN CLUB AUCTION
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
I have now been able to resolve the problem I had with Ebay
concerning posting my items for sale on their website. Real Life
intervened which didn’t help, but I have finally been able to get
back to this.
I will be posting IMAN items for sale next Sunday on Ebay. This way
the auctions will end the following Saturday. That way most people
will be able to arrange to be home, rather than just coming home from
work, or being away for the Memorial Day Weekend.
I will send out a short email to the mailing list when I am done,
which will have the weblink for the auction. Sorry for the delay,
but it will be well worth your time to check us out.
