A PASSING OF THE TORCH
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
My Fellow I-Maniacs
It is with a heavy heart that I make the following
announcement. After almost three years with the
I-Maniacs, I am officially stepping down as President
of the fan club.
I do not make this decision lightly, it has come after
much thought and debate and discussion. Right now, my
life has become absolutely maddening, I have more job
responsibilities now and I have just recently
discovered that I am expecting my second child in
October. With all of these new entries into my life, I
found that I was not able to devote as much time and
energy to the club as I once was. This is not fair to
you guys as a whole. You all need someone who can
devote a lot of time and energy not only to the club
but to the on-going campaign, which is so terribly
important.
This was the ultimate reason I decided to step aside
and let another take my place. You need a leader who
will be there at all times, not when she can spare a
moment. To this end, Joyce (Invisible Mom) has agreed
to take over the reins and I know she will do a
fantastic job. She is very involved in the campaign
and has been doing a lot of duties I would normally
attend to. I know that with the help of the Board,
Joyce will be an awesome President for you guys.
I hope that none of you harbor any ill-will toward me,
I really was trying to balance everything so that I
could remain president of the club and juggle my
outside life. I have quickly learned that this is not
the case, and for that, I m sorry.
I have made some wonderful friends here and I plan to
keep in touch with you all. I love Invisible Man and I
love the fans that follow the show, and still do to
this day. I wish all of you nothing but God Speed in
your every endeavor, if I can ever be of any help, do
not hesitate to email me. This has been a wonderful
experience for me and I walk away with nothing but
fond memories. God Bless you all and may the wind be
always at your backs.

ACCEPTING THE TORCH
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
Hi Everyone!
First of all, I would like to congratulate Stacey/R2
and her husband, and send my best wishes for a
healthy, happy baby.
I would also like to assure everyone that I will do my
best to keep the fan club running smoothly, and I hope
that if any member has any problem with any aspect of
the club, that they will feel free to contact me at
Invisible_Mom@yahoo.com and tell me about it. That is
what I am here for.
I have always given the fan club and the campaign to
get our show back high priority, and have tried to be
there whenever I am needed. I occasionally get
side-tracked by Real Life, as we all do, but I have
always made a concerted effort to get back on track
quickly so that the responsibilities I have undertaken
in this fandom will be taken care of. I will continue
to do so.
I ll miss Stacey/R2 and hope she will be able to stay
in contact with me and her other friends in the club.
It just wouldn t be the same without her energy,
enthusiasm, and outright insaneness. I have some big
shoes to fill, but with the help of the other Board
members, I think I will be able to make a smooth
transition.
I am honored that Stacey/R2 thought so highly of me
that I was her first choice for this position. I
won t let her or the fan club members down.

Please continue to tell all your family and friends

SPECIAL EVENTS UPDATE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
Hey everyone!
ImaniCon2003 plans are coming together. The Con will
be held October 10-12, 2003, at the Embassy Suites in
Rosemont, IL (1 mile from Chicago O Hare Airport).
We re still negotiating group rates on hotel rooms,
but as soon as we have that information, I ll be
posting the 800 number to call for reservations.
Also, once we have finalized our expenses, we ll be
posting con registration and ticket information at
www.imaniacs.org .
Our schedule of events is still very preliminary, but
some of the activities for ImaniCon2003 may include:
Friday Night: something informal is likely -- viewing
eps or scavenger hunt for example
Saturday Night: Arnaud's Casino Night (with Darien's
Karaoke)
Saturday and Sunday daytime: Blind Round Robin
reading, viewing of music videos and/or eps (including
the French & UK DVDs), I-Man Pictionary, scene acting,
scavenger hunt, and Agency Feud (Family Feud).
Invitations have been extended to the cast to attend
ImaniCon2003, but we do not have formal confirmation
on their attendance. If any of the cast
attend/participate in the con, some activities will be
added to involve the cast (e.g., panel discussion,
view exclusive video interview with cast members). I
will post once I have further info.
One of the events we have planned for ImaniCon is a
Blind Round Robin storytelling. In a BRR, there are
several different authors. Each author only sees the
last two sentences of the story section immediately
preceding, which has some humorous results. The
entire story will be read at the con. I still have a
few spots open for writers to participate in this
event. You don t have to be planning on attending the
con to volunteer! If you d like to write a section of
the story, please email me at
katrynsedai@imaniacs.org. For more details on the
rules and requirements for the BRR, see
www.imaniacs.org, click on Cons & Events , then
ImaniCon2003", or the imaniacs bboard at:
http://pub126.ezboard.com/fimaniacsfrm26.showMessage?topicID=15.topic
Please note that if you tried to email me at my
imaniacs.org address last week, I did not receive your
mail, as our website was down. If you did not get a
reply from me re: your email, please resend. Thanks!
Watch the imaniacs bboard for the latest con updates
at: http://pub126.ezboard.com/fimaniacsfrm26
If you d like to participate in the planning of
ImaniCon2003, or have a suggestion regarding an event
or activity for the con, please join the planing
committee at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/I-ManiCon-2003-Planning-Committee
As always, if you hear of a convention that might be
of interest to fellow fans, please email me at
katrynsedai@imaniacs.org or post on the imaniacs
bboard at: http://pub126.ezboard.com/fimaniacsfrm21
Thanks, and I look forward to seeing some of you in
Chicago this fall!

WEB SITE UPDATE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
Hi All!
Many of you may have noticed that for about a week
imaniacs.org, like Darien, was MIA. Major server
problems at our host ISP took down a number of sites
for a bit, and we got caught in the carnage. I m
happy to say we DID get it back (and it s now backed
up on my hard drive, so we re safe). We did lose about
a month s worth of updates, so if you joined the club
recently and your name no longer shows up on the page,
don t panic, we have a record of your joining and can
get you added back quickly. I expect this will be
done within the next week.
The biggest loss is in e-mail. Unfortunately, any
mail that was in the mailboxes is forever lost in that
big bit-bucket in the sky. If you have sent mail to
anyone recently and didn t get an answer, please write
again. They re not ignoring you, they just lost the
mail.
Thank you so much for your patience. I m really sorry
about that, and it feels good to be back!

CAMPAIGN UPDATE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
My Dear I-Maniacs,
It s been a long year without new Invisible Man
episodes. We are still working hard to encourage the
networks to give the show a space on their schedules.
We have an extensive list of addresses of people who
are vital to the future production of Invisible Man.
Please make sure you visit this page and drop them all
a line. SciFi Channel s new senior vice president of
original programming, Mark Stern needs to hear from
us! Please gear up and let him know that they HAVE a
show that still has a loyal, WORLD-WIDE audience!
We KNOW Bobby, Darien and company would be perfect for
their network - it s just a matter of convincing them.
:)
SciFi Channel does have people reading the message
boards, so it s important that we continue to post
there as well as on the boards here at imaniacs.org.
I would like to encourage weekly rallies - everyone go
in there and post like mad! Don t give up!
Send those cards and letters! Send that e-mail and
make those phone calls. You ve been hearing this for
more than a year now and I thank you all for your hard
work and dedication. Darien and Bobby thank you too.
It s all up to us, my friends.
We want to let them know that the fans are still here
and we still love Invisible Man. At the risk of
sounding like a broken record, they DO see our
letters. If you haven t written yet (or are new to the
club), please take a few moments and drop a line to
Angela Mancuso. To make it easy, Skates site has some
awesome postcards and flyers all ready to be printed
and addressed. If you get the chance too, you might
want to contact local tv and radio
stations and let them know that IMan fans are still
out here. We did this earlier (when the show was still
on the air on SciFi, but we should keep at it). Your
entertainment editors in your local magazines and
newspapers as well as entertainment and genre
magazines. If they get enough letters about a show,
they are likely to feature articles about it, as well
as printing letters they get. For more information on
this and other Save IMan activities, visit
http://www.saveinvisibleman.com/
When you write, point out to them IMan s huge Roswell
Awards wins. Visit http://chrissys.com for the
good
news.
Please also don t forget about the petitions. If you
haven t signed them yet, please go on over and sign
your name . You can find the links on

SOUND OFF!
<*><*><*><*><*><*>
In this section of the newsletter we offer all of you
the opportunity to give us your opinion on various
Invisible Man subjects.
Last newsletter I posted the following question:
According to psychologists, individual color
preferences are formed by personal experience; they
form early and grow and change over the years, so that
by the time we are adults, our color choices express a
personal language of our feelings. So, put on your
psychology cap and tell us what you think Hobbes s
favorite color is and why?
Here is what some of you creative I-Maniacs chose for
Darien s favorite color:
Krys:
Bobby Hobbes is a very passionate and complex man. I
would mention two colors as his possible favs: Crimson
and Royal Blue.
Crimson for the fact that the man is just plain hot!
<chuckle> His temper, once sparked, is fierce and
powerful. When he's focused, Bobby Hobbes is a force
to be reckoned with , my friend. He is truly a tiger,
and is very protective of those he cares for.
Royal Blue is at odds with the Red, as Bobby is
constantly at odds with himself. Deep inside is a
calm center which he's slowly learning to access and
utilize. The blue encompasses all of the wonderful
Qualities that Bobby has: his loyalty, his friendship,
his caring and (yes) nurturing nature.
Bobby Hobbes is an intelligent, multi-faceted,
quick-witted man just brimming with inner conflict.
That's one of the reasons he's such a good match for a
partner and friend to Darien: Bobby knows all too well
about the inner wars of extremes Darien deals with on
a daily basis. Bobby's yins and yangs tend to scare
away many people, but if someone takes the time (and
has the patience) to get to know the real Bobby Hobbes
underneath all of his mental and emotional "static",
they'll find one helluva man for an ally and friend.
Okay, that's enough psychoanalyzing for me. <snort>
Can you tell I used to be a Psych Major? ;-)
WaterShadow:
Hobbes' favorite color is a confusing issue for me to
think of, but I believe his favorite color MUST be
green. Not just one shade, oh no, but every shade of
green under and out of the sun; from the almost-black
green that signifies his darkest depressions, to the
palest white-green that reveals his most caring,
sensitive side. Green is (to me) the color of peace
and stillness, but still symbolizes deep emotion, and
we all know that our beloved Hobbesy's got the emotion
thing down.
New Topic:
Now that we ve decided what Darien s and Hobbes s
favorite color is, let s see what you think The
Official s favorite color is and why.
