A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHER
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Hi Fellow I-Maniacs!

I hope everyone is having a great new year and that
you haven't all broken your new year resolutions
already like I have :)

Our president was unable to participate in the
newsletter since she has a very sick son on her hands
so let's all pull for the little guy to get well soon.

We have a lot to tell you this issue, so have fun
reading!

Gina

can show TPTB what fan power is all about. Only
another couple of dozen members will do it!
Even after the show was not renewed, the fan club and
fan base has continued to grow. Over half our
membership joined after the show was canceled! Fan
Power! It s a wonderful thing to see!
Take care.

A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Hi everyone! Remember me? Oh it s been a
while...today is simply a few random points to throw
out at you. Ready?
Life is rough without I-Man...and rougher still with
no I-Man to look forward to. That s why the next
Invisible Man Fan Club Convention is something we
should ALL be looking forward to! Of course if you
want to look back you can see last years IManiCon
fresh on tape...Adel will be coming along with
information on when and how to order your tapes, but
trust me I ll be one of the first in line to get those
memories!
As for other SciFi news, some of you may know I now
moonlight every so often on a SciFi radio/internet
show called Interstellar Transmissions. While
there are no I-Man shows coming up, we do take live
callers and I d love to hear from any I-Maniac out
there who d like to call in and talk Darien, Hobbes,
Claire, Eberts, the Official, and Alex. Check out the
website for all the details.
Finally I urge everyone to try and support our friends
over in Farscape land as much as possible. They ve
lent us support in our time of need, and now the
Scapers need our help. Please continue to write to
SciFi about BOTH shows, stress each individual
strength and the power of Farscape and I-Man as a pair
on any given night. On Valentines Day put aside your
bitterness and send a V-Day card to Scifi telling them
you love them for giving us Darien and Crichton. Let
SciFi know we are still here!
That s all for now...order those Con tapes!
Lauren (OboeCrazy)

CAMPAIGN UPDATE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

My Dear IManiacs,

Please let's keep at it! We can't afford to get
tired, to slack off. Farscape fans are still making
an impression on the SciFi Channel for their
dedication to getting their show back. Please, let's
not let Invisible Man fall off their radar!

We have an extensive list of addresses of people who
are vital to the future production of Invisible Man.
Please make sure you visit this page and drop these
folks all a line. Please let's let him know that
they HAVE a show that still has a loyal, world-wide
audience!

We KNOW Bobby, Darien and company would be perfect
for their network - it's just a matter of convincing
the network brass. :)

InvisibleDanielle said it best on the
scifi.com/invisibleman bboard:

"Now I think it's time that we I-Maniacs start making
a little noise ourselves. Sure we can sit here and
talk all we want but this isn't going to bring back
our show! We really need to start taking action!"

She's right! We're not done yet, and if we don't want
to get buried in the farscape avalanche, we need to
step up and make our voices heard!.

Send those cards and letters! Send that e-mail and
make those phone calls.

USA Network and UPN are looking for action/adventure
shows, especially those with a scifi angle. USA
Network is remaking Bionic Woman, a show from the
70's. We still want to let them know that they have a
show that still has a legion of fans who very much
want it back.

We want to let them know that the fans are still here
and we still love Invisible Man. At the risk of
sounding like a broken record, they DO see our
letters. If you haven't written yet (or are new to the
club), please take a few moments and drop a line to
Angela Mancuso. To make it easy, Skates' site has some
awesome postcards and flyers all ready to be printed
and addressed.

If you get the chance too, you might want to contact
local tv and radio stations and let them know that
IMan fans are still out here. We did this earlier
(when the show was still on the air on SciFi, but we
should keep at it). Your entertainment editors in your
local magazines and newspapers as well as
entertainment and genre magazines. If they get enough
letters about a show, they are likely to feature
articles about it, as well as printing letters they
get. For more information on this and other Save IMan
activities, visit http://qsm.shinies.net

When you write, point out to them IMan's huge Roswell
Awards wins. Visit http://chrissys.com for the good
news.

Please also don't forget about the petitions. If you
haven't signed them yet, please go on over and 'sign
your name':

Shows button)

SOUND OFF!
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

In this section of the newsletter we offer all of you
the opportunity to give us your opinion on various
Invisible Man subjects.

Last newsletter I posted the following question:
According to psychologists, individual color
preferences are formed by personal experience; they
form early and grow and change over the years, so that
by the time we are adults, our color choices express a
personal language of our feelings. So, put on your
psychology cap and tell us what you think Darien s
favorite color is and why?

Here is what some of you creative I-Maniacs chose for
Darien s favorite color:

LadyBaller aka Allianora2:
think Darien's favorite color is purple which is a
combo of red and blue. This makes since to
me...because red is known as passion, fire, rage,
hot....and of course he's all of these
things...especially when he is QSM....and blue is
known for cool, calm, fluent....and we all know Darien
is cool...hehee ;)

Tigon:
I must say that Darien's favourite colour would
definitely NOT be silver, but it might be blue. A
deep, mysterious dark blue. Besides, if it's dark
enough, you can hide in the shadows, and there are
lots of shadows in his mind and past. <Not that
shadows don't make for an interesting show, mind you!>
So, Darien's fav. colour? Dark Blue.

JamNelson:
Darien's favorite colors are orange and purple. He's
made mentions on the show about liking purple and he
wears a lot of orange. Reasons are that orange
symbolizes strength and power. Purple symbolizes
individuality and uniqueness :)

Jak:
Darien's favorite color is blue. Blue is very calming
and peaceful, and the poor guy needs some of that in
his life...

New Topic:
Now that we ve decided what Darien s favorite color
is, let s see what you think Hobbes favorite color is
and why.

You can Sound Off by sending your opinion to
imannewsletter@yahoo.com and be sure to include your
handle and put the words "Sound Off" in the subject of
your email.

Do you still love I-Man? Silly question. Of couse you
do! Well, very soon you're going to get a chance to
show it! I know O:VI has been rather quiet lately,
folks, but we're still here and still fighting for our
beloved show. There is lots of info we'll be sharing
with you folks, but for now time forces me to make
this announcement short and brief.

I'm happy to announce that O:VI is growing! That's
right! Now we know TPTB are expecting us to get
discouraged, slow down, and throw in the towel, but
we're doing exactly what they don't expect of us.
We're expanding! That's right! We're gonna show them
that the fans of The Invisible Man aren't like all
those other fandoms out there with short-lived
campaigns. We've got staying power; we're determined,
dedicated, and loyal; and, by golly, we want our show
back!

To that end, I'm gonna introduce you to just one of
our newest team members: Miami_Mom2! This gal, who
recently joined the O:VI management team, is
thoroughly dedicated to our cause. Already, she has
taken it upon herself to organize a very special
project. I'll let her tell it to you in her own
words.

__________

We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the
date the last episode of The Invisible Man aired. To
mark this infamous date we are going to celebrate the
joy that I-Man gave to each and everyone of us.

There is going to be a Cyber Pep Rally on the I-Man
SciFi bboard (http://www.scifi.com/invisibleman/)
today, January 31 at 12:00 p.m. EST and will end on
February 2. The Rally is to let TPTB know that we
haven't *disappeared*.

In the immortal words of John Paul Jones, "I have not
yet begun to fight!"

miami_mom2

__________

So there you have it, folks, another way we can show
our love for I-Man. Why is this so important? Well, if
you read the last newsletter, you know that we have a
very special opportunity right now. We have an "in" at
a major studio. Now this is exactly the kind of break
that we have been campaigning so hard for this past
year. Opportunities like this don't come along every
day and we need to make the most of it. One of the
things that TPTB will be looking for is a strong
interest in the property that is The Invisible Man.
Here's our chance to show it by participating in the
Rally. A busy Invisible Man SciFi bboard is one very
important way of showing them that this fandom is
alive and well. Let's not blow this opportunity!

Invite your friends, family and other fandoms! Let's
make some noise this weekend! I'll see ya all there!
