*Greetings & Welcome*

Well, well, well! Here we are, fast nearing the end of
what certainly has been a very interesting year. Full
of emotional highs and lows, full of joys and sorrows,
chances to see old friends again and make some new
ones. This year has been a lot of things, but we
certainly can't say that it hasn't been interesting. I
want to send out a personal note of thanks to each and
every one of you. I know that it's not easy fighting
for something that you believe in, even when it feels
like everyone else doesn't. Thank you for standing by
us, for giving us ideas, for showing off your
wonderful talents through art and fic contests, for
showing off your devoted loyalty by jumping on
complete strangers in parking lots and verbally
assaulting them with the ingeniousness that is I-Man.
Okay, maybe that last one is just me :)
As this year draws to a close, I hope that you will
all join us as a New Year approaches. Join us as we
embark on discovering exactly what 2003 holds in store
for us. Good or bad, we'll make it through together.

*Small Note*

I know that I am not as visible on the Billboards and
whatnot as I used to be, chalk that up to a growing
son, growing responsibilities at work and numerous
other things going on right now. That doesn't mean
that I don't keep up with what's going on, thanks to a
wonderful Board. I know that many of you feel that we
here on the Board have distanced ourselves from you,
becoming our own separate entity. Let me be the first
one to tell you that nothing could be further from the
truth. We have always, and *will* always, stand for
the fans. Sometimes, like me, the hideousness that is
Real Life comes banging on our doors and we can't
always be there to show our faces. And, truth be told,
sometimes we don't know anything and so don't say
anything. But always, both past and present, whenever
we find out something, you guys have always been the
first to know. That will never change, not so long as
I still draw breath.
Please realize that we are a collection of devoted
fans, much as yourself, that tries on a daily basis to
put everything we have into getting our show back on
the air. Yes, we tried to offer you a variety of
merchandise so you would have more of a selection,
unfortunately because we are not a professional
marketing machine, it sort of back-fired on us. This
was nobody's fault, certainly not Shelly's. We tried
to take a bigger bite than we could manage, but we
didn't do it on purpose; we did it to try and offer
some spice since buying only one piece of merchandise
can get a bit dull. However, we learned our lesson and
it's not one we will be willing to repeat.
Sometimes our actions may not come off exactly as we
planned, but insulting, hurting or offending any of
you is not our intention. KatrynSedai is currently in
the process of planning the next Imanicon and it
really is a big deal, as Emerald can attest, planning
an event of this magnitude is not an easy venture, and
Katryn doesn't do this for a living. She does it
because she loves the show and she loves you guys.
Basically, what it boils down to is this : we are
human and we make mistakes. Sometimes they're big
ones, sometimes they're small ones, but we have made
them in the past and I guarantee you that we will make
them in the future as well. All I can promise is that
we'll try to fix it as best we can so that this will
continue to be a fun fan club for all of you. That is
and always has been our ultimate goal -- to provide
each and every one of you with a fun and diverse fan
club.

*Some Good News*

Thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of another I-Man
fan who wishes to remain anonymous, O:VI has uncovered
some potential interest in our favorite show at a
major studio that runs not only a well-known network,
but a cable channel as well.
When OVI sent over a press kit (including the petition
sigs) and a beautiful professionally edited I-Man
promo tape, the contact fell in love with the show.
I've been told that this person already has an
aggressive plan of attack to get the word out about
the show to all the studio's PTB, including the
executive responsible for programming. OVI is also
working with the contact on a whole host of other
stuff, including a new press release touting the
successful work that both PBV and VV have done for
this studio, to underscore the fact that our guys are
known, bankable quantities.
But as usual, each and every one of you guys are the
key to our efforts. What do we need you to do?

First and MOST important:
Write SciFi's new VP of Programming and ask him to put
the show back on in re-runs:

Mike Stern
Snr. VP Original Programming
SciFi Channel
1230 Ave. of Americas, F115
New York, NY 10020

This is so ... so ... SO important! There is a new
face over at SciFi now and we need to jump while the
iron is hot .. or something like that! We need to get
the show airing again to prove that there's still a
solid audience for this show, as well as to attract
new fans. You don't need to write this guy a novel,
just a one-page letter or even a holiday card as has
been suggested would be great. As always, if you need
some inspiration, you can download flyers, postcards,
what have you at the OVI site
(http://qsm.shinies.net), at Skates' site
(home.att.net/~skates/SaveIMAN.htm) or at
http://www.perseusproject.com. Also, Stern used to be an
executive producer of The Twilight Zone, so you might
want to mention how much you enjoyed VV's appearance
on that show.

Write Barry Diller and ask him to either put the show
back on the air at USA or to sell the rights to any
other interested network. Barry's address is:

Mr. Barry Diller
President/CEO
USA Networks, Inc.
800 Sunset Blvd., Fifth Floor
Los Angeles, CA 90069

When you're done writing your letters, go and sign the
petition at
http://www.petitiononline.com/imans3/petition.html (if
you haven't signed already) and ask any other fandoms
you may be active in to sign. That means Farscape,
Firefly, Dark Angel, Buffy, Angel, Prey, Witchblade,
Birds of Prey, etc. Ask your friends in other fandoms
to help us out, and in turn, let us know how we can
help those fandoms out. It's a tough time for scifi
shows on the tube, and we all need to stick together,
I just found out yesterday that Firefly has been
cancelled. Crying shame, that was a fun show.
If we can get other fandoms to pitch in on our
petition and campaign, like we have on other show's
campaigns, our numbers will grow exponentially. We
need to get the petition sigs up to 10,000 at least --
and it *is* doable. Right now we have over 8000 sigs
from both the first and current petition. Surely you
guys can get 2000 of your closest family and friends
to help out ;-)

If you haven't done it already, go and read the I-Man
Virtual Season, it's a fun read and takes the place of
not being able to watch our beloved show every week.
You can go to http://home.austin.rr.com/rmrco/imanvs/.
Yeah, I know it sounds like a shameless plug, but TPTB
do in fact know about the VS3. There are counters on
the most recent episodes and we need to get those
numbers up to prove that there is still a strong
interest in this show.

Now I know a lot of this just sounds like more of the
same: write letters, sign petitions, yadda yadda
yadda. But that's because it's *working*. There is
interest in this show -- our efforts have even been
successful in bringing players together to discuss a
potential I-Man movie. This is all because of the
unceasing efforts of each and every one of you who
writes and mails a letter/flyer/postcard/etc. Our
goal is clear and attainable: We *will* see I-Man
back on the air!

*Request from OVI*

Please email OVI ovi@shinies.net and let us know if
you are now or ever have been a Nielsen family,
whether you had an actual Nielsen box or just used a
log to record your viewing habits. They asked me to
ask you, so I'm asking! I'm guessing this has to do
with the ratings for I-Man. Also, OVI needs to know
where the show is currently on the air -- for example,
it's not on in the U.S., but it is on in Spain, and
will be coming back on in Australia. What about the
rest of theworld? Please email us OVI at
ovi@shinies.net and let them know if it's on in your
country and what season is airing. We have a
wonderfully diverse group out there, the more
countries we can show TPTB where I-Man is showing, the
better it will be!

So there you have it! We certainly are ending this
year with a bang! Hopefully 2003 will open with an
equally loud noise for all of us. I'm going to stop
rambling now so you can go and read what the rest of
the Board has in store for you all.
Have a safe and wonderful holiday season, I'll see you
all in 2003!

CAMPAIGN UPDATE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

My Dear I-Maniacs,

Please let's keep at it! We have an extensive list of
addresses of people who are vital to the future
production of Invisible Man. Please make sure you
visit http://www.imaniacs.org/imancontact.htm and drop
them all a line. We now have another possibility -
SciFi Channel's new senior vice president of original
programming, Mark Stern! We're coming up with an
address for him, so please gear up and get ready to
let him know that they HAVE a show that still has a
loyal, world-wide audience!

In the mean time, perhaps we could all e-mail Angela
Mancuso and ask her to speak to Mr Stern! With the
new Senior VP of Programming coming on board, we have
an ear of someone in charge of more than just SciFi
Channel.

Send those cards and letters! Send that e-mail and
make those phone calls.

USA Network and UPN are looking for action/adventure
shows, especially those with a scifi angle. USA
Network is remaking Bionic Woman, a show from the
70's. We still want to let them know that they have a
show that still has a legion of fans who very much
want it back.

We want to let them know that the fans are still here
and we still love Invisible Man. At the risk of
sounding like a broken record, they DO see our
letters. If you haven't written yet (or are new to the
club), please take a few moments and drop a line to
Angela Mancuso. To make it easy, Skates' site has some
awesome postcards and flyers all ready to be printed
and addressed.

If you get the chance too, you might want to contact
local tv and radio stations and let them know that
I-Man fans are still out here. We did this earlier
(when the show was still on the air on SciFi, but we
should keep at it). If the entertainment editors in
your local magazines and newspapers as well as
entertainment and genre magazines get enough letters
about a show, they are likely to feature articles
about it, as well as printing letters they get. For
more information on this and other Save I-Man
activities, visit http://qsm.shinies.net

When you write, point out to them I-Man's huge Roswell
Awards wins. Visit http://chrissys.com for the good
news.

Please also don't forget about the petitions. If you
haven't signed them yet, please go on over and 'sign
your name':

SOUND OFF!
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

In this section of the newsletter we offer all of you
the opportunity to give us your opinion on various
Invisible Man subjects.

Last newsletter I asked you to tell us what Halloween
costumes you thought our Underfunded Five might wear.
Only bookwormgirl had any thoughts on the subject and
here they are:

Darien: A mime (Truly a frightening costume)
Bobby: James Bond ("That's Hobbes, Bobby
Hobbes")
The Keeper: Bride of Frankenstein (In keeping with
the Mad Scientist motif that she has
created)
The Official Santa and his elf (Can you picture Eberts
& Eberts: in green tights with little bells on
curly shoes?!)

New Topic:
According to psychologists, individual color
preferences are formed by personal experience; they
form early and grow and change over the years, so that
by the time we are adults, our color choices express a
personal language of our feelings. So, put on your
psychology cap and tell us what you think Darien s
favorite color is and why?

You can Sound Off by sending your opinion to
imannewsletter@yahoo.com and be sure to include your
handle and put the words "Sound Off" in the subject of
your email.

ARE YOU A PREYMATE?
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

To All I-Man Fans who are also Preymates:

I am trying to find out just how many members are
indeed crossover fans, loving Prey as much as I-Man.
For about 2 plus years now, the Prey campaign has been
running a membership census for fans of the show. All
those records are currently in my hands and are kept
strictly confidential, if that is requested by any
member. I would like to ask the I-Maniacs to help me
gauge the popularity of Prey within your community.
Here s the information I would like to request from
any crossover fan:

Name
Screen Name (if they use one)
Mailing Address
Email Address

You don t have to provide your street address, only if
you are comfortable doing so. I would only use the
mailing address in dire circumstances and again all
information is kept confidential; just say the word.
Please submit your census information to me via email
at preycochairs@angelfire.com . None of your personal
information will be shared unless you give permission.

And, if our members can help in anyway with the I-Man
campaign, please don t hesitate to ask, as many of us
loved, and deeply miss I-Man!

Thanks so much!

Lee Ann aka Rueben!
Co-Chair of the Prey For Us Campaign
