A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHER
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Hi Fellow I-Maniacs!

I knew we were a determined bunch, but I'm still
pretty amazed that we pulled off the coup that we did
with the Roswell Awards! Now even more people know
that we are a force to be reckoned with... keep up the
good work I-Maniacs!

This issue is a tad later than usual, but it's
jam-packed with information and fun, so hopefully that
makes up for its tardiness :)

*Agenda*

*Greetings & Welcome*
*FanFic Awards*
*Roswell Awards*
*PVB Artwork*

Greetings My Fellow I-Maniacs

My goodness it's been a busy month! So much has been
going on what the campaign, voting, contests,
merchandise ... I don't even know where to start! It
seems that we're doing more now with our show off the
air than we were when it was on. Of course, when it
was on the air we were busy *watching* it and enjoying
it, now we're busy trying to show TPTB how wrong they
are.
I want you guys to know that you're doing a great job
with the campaign, keep it up and don't let it wane.
Now, more then ever, we need to keep sending in our
postcards and letters, not only to Angela over at
Studios USA but also to Matt Greenberg and UPN. Every
day our numbers continue to grow and with our numbers
growing so does our voice. There is strength in
numbers and we are gaining in numbers everyday. We are
a force to be reckoned with and we should never lose
sight of that.
I know that there are some days where our spirits are
low and we feel that we are not getting through, when
you feel like that just remember the success that the
O:VI gals got with their publicity stunt.
They kept at it and kept trying and then one day, they
did it.
That's how it needs to be with us -- we just need to
keep trying and one day, we will get it too.

*FanFic Awards*

I was perusing the SciFi Bboard the other day and came
across a wonderful contest that I think you should all
be aware of. It's a FanFic contest being run by the
fans, for the fans with prizes being designed by Liz.
The contest is being put on by BethCarielle and you
can go to
http://www.geocities.com/i_man_fanfic_awards/index.html
to view all the nominees, nominate a favorite piece of
fiction and then vote! Voting began on Tuesday, August
27th and it will be running through September 28th.
This is a great chance for all of you to visit this
site, read some truly awesome fanfic and then vote for
your favorite!
I have gone to this site and I highly recommend it. It
is well organized with easy-to-understand directions
on how to place your votes, plus it was a great chance
to find some really awesome fic to read.
So, when you can take a break from writing letters and
signing petitions then head on over to this site and
cast your ballot!

*Roswell Awards*

"Well guess what! We did it, and we're going to keep
on doing it! It shouldn't stop when the Roswell Awards
are handed out, it should continue in the letters we
right, the emails we send, the postcards we mail. We
showed everyone how much we love our show by voting
our guys into the top spot, lets continue to show it
everyday, in any way we can. We may have won this
battle, but there is still a war to be fought! Hang in
there, I-Maniacs!"

*PBV Artwork*

As you all know, PBV has created a wonderful selection
of artwork, just for the I-Maniacs. For those of you
who may not know, this wonderful collection can be
viewed on the I-Maniacs website, and you can even
purchase one to have for your very own.
These pieces are very popular and now that they can be
purchased in two sizes (large and small) you have even
more of a selection!  The small pieces measure 8 ½ x
11 and the large pieces are 10 X 13 and they go for
$30 and $60, respectively. These are a must have for
anyone who loves the show.
As a result of the popularity of these pieces, a
reserve list has been made for those of you who would
like to purchase a piece but can't afford to do so
now.
Here is the actual announcement regarding the reserve
list :
Hey I-Maniacs!
Don't miss out on having your very own I-Man photo
collage created by PBV,
Agent Hobbes himself.  This is a limited edition
collection and they're going fast. We will be taking
orders up until September 30. so, if you are thinking
of having one or more of these pieces for your very
own, they can now be reserved on our new reservation
list so your order is guaranteed.  Payment can be made
at any time within 60 days of your reservation.
These are a great memento of our favorite show, from
the hands of one of its stars. Be sure to reserve
yours soon.
Simply go to http://imaniacs.org and follow the
instructions for placing a piece (or pieces) of your
choice on the newly organized reserve list.  Don't be
the only I-Maniac who doesn't own a piece of this
show!

will contact the folks who need to see your comment,
who will reply if you so desire.  We do want to hear
from YOU, 'cause this is your club and we want you to
know that we value your thoughts.

Before I close this, I need to recognize some folks
who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in
helping to make this site a good one.  I have
mentioned her before, but I have to thank SnowTiger
for her help with the  #imaniacs chat room.  She's
been instrumental in keeping things working smoothly
in there.  Emerald01 has been the rock of the message
board. She set it up and keeps it going (hopefully
with little interference from me :).  You're just
doing a SUPER job, thanks, Emerald!  And last, but not
least, a huge round of applause goes to our own
InvisibleMom.  Without her proof-reading skills, the
member list pages would be a shambles.  I can't do it
without you Joyce, thanks a million!

Thanks all, and God bless!

CAMPAIGN UPDATE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Hi guys!
Thank you so much for all your hard work, writing the
networks, and especially Angela Mancuso! We never know
what can happen, but when writing USA, it can only be
good. :)
Word is out that USA Network is looking for
action/adventure shows, especially those with a scifi
angle. They are remaking Bionic Woman, a show from the
70's.  Why not let them know that they have a show
that still has a legion of fans who very much want it
back?  They can be reached at series@usanetwork.com.
We want to let them know that the fans are still here
and we still love Invisible Man. At the risk of
sounding like a broken record, our letters ARE making
a difference. If you haven't written yet (or are new
to the club), please take a few moments and drop a
line to Angela Mancuso. To make it easy, Skates' site
(http://home.att.net/~skates/SaveIMAN.htm) has some
awesome postcards and flyers all ready to be printed
and addressed.
We have a list of addresses of people at
http://imaniacs.org/imancontact.htm who are vital to
the future production of Invisible Man. Please make
sure you visit this page and drop them all a line.
Those I-Maniacs from outside the US especially have a
part to play in bringing back our show.  Please, let
the execs at USA/Universal know that Invisible Man is
a world wide phenomenon!  Tell them how much you love
Invisible Man and why.
If you get the chance too, you might want to contact
local tv and radio stations and let them know that
I-Man fans are still out here. We did this earlier
(when the show was still on the air on SciFi, but we
should keep at it). Your entertainment editors in your
local magazines and newspapers as well as
entertainment and genre magazines. If they get letters
about a show, they are likely to feature articles
about it, as well as printing letters they get. For
more information on this, visit http://visible-ink.net

Please also don't forget about the petitions. If you
haven't signed them yet, please go on over and 'sign
your name':

Shows button)

Brilliant that would be me
Inventive that also would be me
Genius once again... me
Irritating see Darien Fawkes
Dead everyone that gets on my nerves or
                gets in my way.

New Topic:
We've all heard of "Webster's dictionary" but who
really needs to know all those words! I think to get
to know some one, it would be great to have their
personal dictionary containing the words most
important to them and their definition of them. We
just created a dictionary for Arnaud, now let's see if
we can come up with a dictionary for our other
favorite bad guy... Stark. What words do you think
Darien's other nemesis would include in his personal
dictionary and how do you think he'd define them?

You can Sound Off by sending your opinion to
imannewsletter@yahoo.com and be sure to include your
handle and put the words "Sound Off" in the subject of
your email.

OPERATION: VISIBLE INK
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Greetings to the best group of fans in the world!

Wow, can you believe what a busy month it has been?
So much activity to talk about!  We want to thank each
and every one of you for your dedication,
determination and willingness to work so hard for your
show.  Because of you, I-Man prevailed at the Roswell
Awards!  You showed the dedication, determination and
can do attitude that was necessary to win those
awards.  *This* is the kind of spirit that will bring
our show back!  The Scapers tried to sweep the awards
and gave us some good competition, but we had an
advantage:  we've become old pros at campaigning.  We
know what it takes to get the job done and we are
willing to do it.  We do not bail on our show!

We've been hearing good things about I-Man fans from
various sources, such as how we are "organized" and
are "quality fans."  The teamwork you have shown is
exemplary and we're proud to be part of such a classy
group of fans.  Hats off to each and every one of you.

We hope you all enjoyed the auction sponsored by
Perseus Project because we certainly enjoyed the
privilege of helping out with it.  We want to thank
Perseus Project for giving the fans a great
opportunity to own a piece of the magic that is The
Invisible Man while at the same time contributing to
some very worthwhile charities.  However, it's not
over, my friends.  Two items, the purple and the green
data viewers didn't meet their reserve price and will
go back on the auction block.  Stay tuned for further
announcements about this from Perseus Project.

Both of the above events have given us some great
publicity opportunities!  Check our website
(http://qsm.shinies.net) in the near future for press
releases about these two events written by Pip, our
resident I-Man Evangelist/PR Guru.

Petition Count

The petition numbers are rising!  As of this writing,
we have 4,370 signatures!  This is great!  Now we've
noticed a bit of a problem with some of the
signatures.  Looks like a small group of fans are
signing the petition over and over again and it's
quite obvious too.  So let us remind you that if
you've already signed the petition, please don't keep
signing it over and over and over again.  Petitions
don't work well that way.  What we need are fresh
signatures, so get everyone you know to sign it
instead.  Spread the word!

Go here to sign the season three petition:
www.petitiononline.com/imans3/petition.html.

SaveThatShow.com Count

Now that the Roswell voting has ended, it's time to
turn our attention back to SaveThatShow.com.  The site
has been updated and it looks like I-Man has moved
into fourth place with 16,239 votes!  Keep voting and
let's move it into first place!  Go to
www.savethatshow.com to cast your vote.

Network Blitz Count

With all the voting that has been going on at the
Roswell Awards, our letter writing and postcard
mailings have slid a bit.  That's understandable, but
now we really need to get back into our weekly routine
of mailing the networks.  After all, this is the
backbone of our campaign!  As of this writing, the
number of letters, postcards, etc. sent to the
networks is 1,699.  Please continue to send your
mailing totals to me at ovi@shinies.net.  I would love
to see the numbers go up!

We've got a couple of brand new postcards created by
our talented graphics gal, AXZ, just for the Roswell
Awards!  One of them is a congratulatory postcard for
the cast and crew and the other was created for
mailing to the USA Network and UPN.  You can find them
at http://qsm.shinies.net in the Downloads section.
So go warm up your printers and start mailing!

Task Force Teams

O:VI Cheerleaders-We're happy to announce that we have
three new cheerleaders on our Cheerleading Squad!
That's right!  Three new silver pompom waving diehard
fans!  Please welcome i_womans_sister, Bravogabbo, and
Allianora2 to the squad!  We're thrilled they joined
us!

Convention Task Force Team-By now you've heard all
about the wonderful success of our first I-Man panel
held at DragonCon in Atlanta, Georgia.  Big huge
thanks to Desi, our Co-Convention Task Force Team
Leader, for putting that together, to R2 and Oboecrazy
for volunteering their time to be on the panel, and to
Suz for creating an awesome flyer.  Next year looks to
be even better with the possibility of the cast
attending!  This is only the first of I-Man's presence
at cons.  Are you interested in holding an I-Man event
or booth at a con?  Do you have any experience with
cons and would like to help?  Then join the Convention
Task Force!  The team will be getting together in
upcoming chats in the near future (announced at the
O:VI Yahoo list:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/operation_visible_ink/)
and planning more con events to promote I-Man and our
cause to save it.  Contact me at ovi@shinies.net if
you want to be part of the action!

Inker of the Month

In honor of you, the fans, who have worked so hard to
save our show, we are instituting a special award to
one very deserving fan each month that has shown
exceptional dedication toward getting our show back
into production.

Our first Inker of the Month award goes to Alex
(a.k.a. AXZ)!  This creative and talented fan has
created numerous postcards and flyers for our printing
and mailing pleasure over the months.  Not only does
she create them, but she regularly mails them to the
networks too!  I know.  I count the emails that come
in with the mailing totals!  And that's not all!  She
also helps us mail out press releases!  A big round of
applause and thanks to this hard-working fan!  Thank
you, Alex!

Well, that's all for this abbreviate version of the
Mission Status Newsletter.  To read the full version,
be sure to visit our website at
http://qsm.shinies.net.  But before I go, do you have
a question, idea or a comment about the campaign or
O:VI?  Well, now is your chance to let your voice be
heard and/or get your question answered!  Starting in
next month's edition of the O:VI Mission Status
Newsletter (full version), we will be publishing and
answering letters that you send in.  Depending on the
response, we will try to answer and publish each and
every letter, but may have to pick and choose if we
get too many.  Email your letters to ovi@shinies.net
and be sure to type "Letters to the Editor" in the
subject line.  Start typing!  We look forward to
hearing from you!
