A WORD FROM THE FOUNDERS
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Hey fellow I-Maniacs, the Long Dark Journey into Insanity is upon us with I-Man now in repeats and the 'back 9' not scheduled to appear until January *R2 pauses to scream*
\
Thankfully, a fellow I-Maniac (OboeCrazy, thanks Lauren!) has come up with a solution that is destined to keep all of us (and especially ME) from going stark raving mad. A Fan-Fic Contest! Yes! A Contest! Get those ideas flowing and put your pens and/or pencils to paper and let the games begin!

We will be accepting entries into the contest until November at which time the readers will vote on the winner and they will get a special prize (as yet to be named). Send all entries to: laurenoboe@scaper.com. Lauren has graciously volunteered to accept and then convert all entries into HTML so they can be posted on a website for all to come and enjoy and vote on.

This promises to be OODLES and OODLES of fun! The only restrictions are as follows : If it cannot be shown on the episode then it cannot be in the contest. That means NO slash fics, NO excessive violence and language, NO killing of the main characters .. you get the idea. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail either myself or Lauren and we'll get back to you.

C'mon fellow fans, let's see what you got! I plan to enter and I can count quite a few of you who should as well! LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

Now, down to business:

Our club numbers are growing by leaps and bounds, the sheer volume of requests I am getting is, at times, staggering! As of last count we were up to 76 members! Isn't that GREAT??!!

In other news : two fan club members have offered up their services to Helena and I in our pursuit to contact TPTB (the powers that be) at Stu Segall. They are SmartyPants and StarSugar. Guys, Helena and I are very grateful for your help, it takes a load off of our shoulders and allows us to bring our attention to other aspects of the club. For the rest of the members, if you, or someone you know, has contacts either in California or with Stu Segall studios itself do not hesitate to contact Helena or myself. We will gladly listen to what you have to say!

A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHER
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Welcome to issue #2 of the I-Man Fan Club newsletter. In this issue you'll notice that some of the sections are different than those from last issue. We've decided to drop the "Fan Club Progress" section and let the "Word from the Founders" section keep you informed on that front. Also, we thought it would be fun to allow everyone the opportunity to participate in the newsletter, so we've added the "Sound Off!" section where we'll ask for your opinion on various I-Man topics and the "What Happens Next?" section where we'll write a group fan fiction one piece at a time.

As we progress from issue to issue, we'll get a better idea of which sections we should include in each issue, which should be occasional sections, and which should just be one-time sections. If you like a particular section and think we should keep it around for future issues, please drop us a line at imannewsletter@yahoo.com and let us know!

SPOTLIGHT ON:
Top Secret: "The Invisible Man"
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

This web site, which is located at http://www.geocities.com/imaniac30/ is loaded with all kinds of goodies! When you first enter, you're given an agent number and can then proceed to one of two Project File pages. Project File Two appears to be a decoy to throw off potential terrorists posing as agents. Project File One, however, is top notch and will keep you busy for quite a while!

Some of the cool things you'll find there are a complete list of all "The Invisible Man" crew members as well as a listing of any known crew member web pages, a list of guest stars by episode, bios of the show's villains, all kinds of nifty pictures, plus many collections of fan creativity such as Stories, Commercials and Songs. There is also a Fan Art page, which includes drawings and paintings done by talented fans. I encourage anyone with artistic talent to try your hand at some I-Man Art and submit it for inclusion on this wonderful page!

Before leaving, be sure to sign the guest book so that Agent Julie can keep track of all the visiting agents who may be available for future missions.

SOUND OFF!
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

This is a new section of the newsletter where we would like to offer all of you the opportunity to give us your opinion. First up, we would like to know who your favorite character is. Is it Darien, our reluctant invisible hero? Or could it be Hobbes, our quirky seasoned (if a bit shuffled around) agent? Perhaps it's Claire, our scientist extraordinaire? Might it be The Official, our mysterious leader? Or, do you have a soft spot for Eberts, our often-ignored lackey?

As difficult as it may be, please choose only one and send your choice to us at imannewsletter@yahoo.com (be sure to put the words "Sound Off" in the subject of your email). We'll tally up the votes and publish the results in the next Newsletter.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

This is another new section of the newsletter where you get the chance to get your creative juices flowing and write the next part of an ongoing story. We've started you off with the beginning of the story below. Your mission, should you choose to accept it (unlike The Official, we give you the choice :), is to write the next part of the story in 125 words or less. We know it will be a tough choice, but we'll then pick one submission and post it in the next newsletter and continue from there.

Here's the teaser:
Darien was a happy guy. He had just gotten a shot of counteragent and wouldn't need a new one for a while, things were quiet at the agency, and most importantly, he was going to spend a nice relaxing evening at home with a home-made meal and his favorite book "The Story of Philosophy: The Lives and Opinions of the World's Greatest Philosophers". "It doesn't get any better than this", he thought as he headed toward his apartment with a bag of groceries in one arm.
As he unlocked the door, the scene inside made him stop in his tracks. "Aw crap!" he said as the smile disappeared from his face and was replaced by a look of dismay. His apartment had been ransacked and very thoroughly at that. After taking a moment to digest the situation, he walked cautiously into the apartment careful not to step on anything breakable, which had not already been broken, and checked to make sure that whoever made the mess wasn't still there.

Your turn! Please limit yourself to one submission and send it to imannewsletter@yahoo.com (be sure to put the words "What Happens Next" in the subject of your email).
