A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHER
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Hi Fellow I-Maniacs & welcome to all our new members!

As promised, this issue features an interview with Paul Ben-Victor! All of the time and effort Paul put into his answers make this interview remarkably fun to read and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it.

On another note of time and effort paying off, I'm continually amazed at the talent of I-Maniacs who send in entries for the "What Happens Next" section of the newsletter. They were all spectacular yet again!

In an attempt to make the Members page at the fan club web site more fun, we've decided to list the members by state of residence so you can see how far and wide I-Mania has spread. It will also serve as an easy way for you to find other members close to you if you'd like to have an I-Man get-together! If you'd prefer to keep this information private, please email me so I can put you in an "unspecified" category. Also, if you'd like your email address linked from this page for easy contact by other members, please send me your permission.

As always, I have a list of "missing members" I'd like to make you all aware of. The list of fan club members whose email addresses are not working for me are: starsugar (mailbox full), akaihato (mailbox full), quicksilvr, canadiannational, Slave2chiana and LuvnVinVin. If you see any of them in the chat room or on the bboard, please do me a favor and send them my way at imannewsletter@yahoo.com so I can get things straightened out and make sure they don't miss out on anything!

We welcome any feedback, not only for this newsletter, but also for the fan club web site at http://www.geocities.com/imanfanclub as well. Please send your comments and suggestions to imannewsletter@yahoo.com.

Gina

Agenda

* Greetings & Welcome
* Board of Directors
* New Chat

**Greetings and Welcome**

Hello my fellow Imaniacs! In just two short weeks we'll once again be inundated with brand spankin' new eppies to lose ourselves in. Can you tell I'm excited? Man, this hiatus is gonna kill me! Hopefully we won't have to do this again for a very long time to come! I want to say how thrilled I am at how much this club has grown. It has reached such proportions that sometimes I'm in complete awe of it all! We have some new members with us today, our numbers now stand at a whopping 222!! Our newest newbies are: Fawkesrocks, Quickslvrchik, LittleKeeper, IMFreak, MGainey, Sinister1, Ashley and Alsatia1. To our newest members ... WELCOME!! Let's give them all a great big Iman greeting! *R2 pauses to don her party cap and pull out her noisemaker* I'm certainly glad that you're all here, because the bigger our family the greater we stand!

**Board of Directors**

The time has come for me to say that I can no longer run this fan club on my own. It was easy at first with only a few members to keep track of, not that many responsibilities and it was easy to keep the select few occupied and happy with the little we had going on. Now that we are growing and expanding so rapidly, my responsibilites are becoming more and more as I look for new and interesting ways to keep the club fun and interesting. Our numbers continue to grow and it is becoming exceedingly difficult for me to run things on my own.
To that end, I have created a Board of Directors to help me. They are a select group of fans that have been with me since the beginning, that have been offering me advice and giving to me their time and effort in order to help me run things a bit more smoothly. I just took them and made everything "official".
I am still going to be here, I am not going anywhere, I am simply handing off certain jobs that I had been taking care of to others I feel will continue on just as doggedly as I have. If you need to speak to me, my email is always open. I am here to answer any questions or deal with any concerns you might have. My time was becoming harder to handle, this way I now have more time to deal with those things that are just as important. You, the fans. I love and respect you all and want you to know that I, and now your Board, are here to help you and assist you in any way we can. We are all going to work together to ensure that the Imaniacs continue to grow and become stronger.
I would now like to introduce you to the Imaniac Board of Directors:

Special Events Director -- KatrynSedai, she will be in charge of putting together events for the fans to attend or to take part in. I'm not just talking about big events like the upcoming Comic Con either, I also mean little things. Like the Imanicon that was put together last month. Katryn will be in charge of contacting other fan members, finding out what's going on in their part of the country and perhaps working with them to organize their own Imanicons. It would be fun to have Imanicons on the East Coast, West Coast and Central areas. Katryn will also keep her eyes open for other smaller cons in the area that fans could get to, and to that end work to organize a meeting from start to finish. Katryn will also help me with organizing in-club events such as chats, she will assist in the setting up of the chat room, the relaying of information to the rest of the club about the event and then assisting me with the moderation of the chat to ensure a smooth running.

Public Relations Director -- Smartypants, she will be in charge of contacting outside groups and assisting Katryn in obtaining things such as rental cars, hotel rooms, restaurant bookings and what not. Smartypants will also be in charge of trying to set up contacts within SciFi, letting our voice be heard and letting TPTB know that there is a following for Invisible Man. Setting up contacts within SciFi is very important because it allows us to have a voice, if we have petitions we know where to send them, if we have questions we know who to ask, if we want to rally for some cause we know who to bury with mail. Smartypants will basically have her fingers on the pulse of the network.

Public Relations Assistant -- Keeper of PBV, she will be in charge of assisting Smartypants in the task of contacting outside groups. This is an important position since outside contacts will help us in our effort to grow and expand.

Merchandising Director -- ShelBel, she will be in charge of thinking up, researching, ordering and obtaining new merchandise for the club. Things like bumper stickers, shirts, hats, socks, ties .. whatever. Anything we can sell to the fans with the fan club logo on it that makes the rest of the public aware of the show. ShelBel will be in charge of the aspect of merchandising; from placing the order with the company to obtaining orders from the fans. She will work with me to ensure quality merchandise and the timely distribution of items to the fans.

New Recruiter Administrator -- InvisibleMom, she will be responsible for ensuring that all new members into the club are aware of all that's going on and are up to date on all club activities. This may sound like a small role, but it is quite important. I am deluged with requests for membership daily, and sometimes it is very difficult for me to get back to the requests immediately. I-Mom will be in charge of replying to the requests, submitting a formal letter of welcome from me and then adding her own personal letter to it. She will then inform the new addition of Disappearing Ink and of all the activities we have going on and then send on all the names (handles only) and their email addresses to the person in charge of maintaining the fanclub website. This way, everything is up to date and new members can see a quick turnaround with joining and then having their names appear at the site.

Website Administrator -- Gina, she will be in charge overall of maintaining the fanclub website and ensuring that all information is timely and up-to-date. Now, we do have some fans that have designed and maintain the site (Fawkesgirl13 and Nebula) however, Gina will be in charge of contacting them and of making sure they are "on the ball". She will make sure member names and email addresses are accurate, that all "news & information" on the page is up to date, that the page is easy to navigate and looks good. Gina will have total control of adding new graphics to the page and of making it appealing to the eye. We want people to be "wowed" when they come to the fan club site, we want them to realize that this is a club they want to join. Gina will be allowed to use whatever outside means she feels will benefit the site, including asking others to help them with designs or whatever.

Assistant Merchandising Director -- LoganLover, she will be helping the person in charge of Merchandising. This is an important task since ShelBel will be in charge of keeping records of what ideas for future merchandise are submitted from the fans. I want the fans to feel that they are contributing also and to this end I welcome any ideas they might have, this is where the AMD comes in. LoganLover will keep track of submissions, relay them to the ShelBel and then work together to see if this is something that they can do. The AMD will then keep track of prices, designs and companies that will offer their services to us.

Presidential Assistant -- OboeCrazy, she will be in charge of making sure I don't lose my mind! Seriously, Lauren will help me with the coordination of such things as contests, relaying of prizes and forwarding of entries to all the necessary people (special events, website admin). Since I will be working with everyone in maintaining their positions and answering any questions they might have, Lauren will be keeping track of all the events we have going on, all the events that are coming up and any future events we have on the "back burner".

There they are, my fellow Imaniacs, your new Board of Directors! Please give them a warm welcome! They have all agreed to come on board and help me in helping you. I look forward to working with each and every one of them and I know that they will have much to contribute. The road ahead looks bright indeed. I look forward to seeing where it goes!

**New Chat**
Well, we haven't had one for quite some time and I want you guys to know that I am currently working on setting something up. I don't want to give away who it is just yet and spoil the surprise, but they will make an excellent guest. Very funny and very easy to talk to. As soon as the date is ironed out and the time and length of the chat is settled, I will contact Katryn and she will send out an email letting you all know what's going on. It's sure to be a fun time! Keep you eyes open for it!

That's it for this edition, folks! Lots of changes taking place & they're all for the better. I've taken up enough of your time. Go! Read! Enjoy!

Stacey

INTROS FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Some of the new board of directors wanted to introduce themselves and say hello (some are even waving wildly even though I tried to tell them you wouldn't be able to see them from this email :)

Hi I-Maniacs! My name is Gina and my oh-so-creative handle is "GinaS". You probably know me as the writer of this here newsletter (or you've seen other sides of me in the chat room :)
I've been asked to be the Web Administrator for the fan club site. Stacey has, in effect, given me permission to hunt down and torture Nebula and Fawkesgirl13 if they don't do… er… did I say that out loud? Actually Neb, FG and our new partner in brainstorming, LoganLover, will all be working together to try to make the web site an informative and fun site to visit. So, keep checking back and remember, if you have any suggestions just send 'em our way at imanfanclub@yahoo.com!

Thanx,
Gina

======

Hi, my name is Lauren and I'm an IManic.
*insert everyone saying "Hi Lauren"*
I usually go by the handle OboeCrazy. Feel free to call me Lauren, or Oboe, or OboeCrazy...I'll even respond to "Hey you!" on occasion. I've been a fan of IM since Darien uttered his first "aw crap" and have been rabid ever since.
I'll be the Presidential Assistant. You can tell 'cause I've got this little plaque on my desk that says "President's Ass." *snicker* Seriously, I'll be here to help coordinate stuff. And do whatever Stacey tells me to do. I hope I'll be able to offer my meager talents and skills to make this organization as good as it can be!

Thank you.
Lauren (OboeCrazy)

Hello Imaniacs!
I'm Lisa aka Smartypants. Recently named Public Relations Director. I am very honored and will work hard in continuing to make the club members proud to be Imaniacs. Stacey has done a wonderful job and I'm happy to be on the team! Thank you!

Hi everyone!
I am Joyce, better known as Invisible_Mom, and I am a member of the Board of Directors of the I-Maniacs Fan Club. I am the New Recruiter Administrator. I will be handling all new membership requests and will keep the newbies up to date on all club activities. I will also have their handle and/or email address added to the fan club website on the members page, and see that they are properly welcomed in the next edition of Disappearing Ink. So tell all your friends and family about The Invisible Man, and let's see how many new members we can get added to this great club!

SPOTLIGHT ON:
HOBBES HONEYS HOMEPAGE
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

The Hobbes Honeys are a group of I-Maniacs dedicated to all things Hobbesian and show their enthusiasm in true fashion with an excellent web site located at http://www.geocities.com/hobbeshoneys.

There is so much going on at this site, that you'll have to check it out for yourselves to see it all. You'll find all sorts of goodies such as a really cool Hobbes wallpaper graphic and screen saver for your computer, lots of photos and a procedure to send e-cards with Bobby's face on them!

Some of the other highlights of the site include a Hobbes Dossier, which is a detailed record of Hobbes' life and career all conveniently located in one spot, a "Who is Bobby Hobbes" section which provides details gleaned about Hobbes, such as his wardrobe style, skills and psyche, listed in an episode by episode format, and a section called "Our Little Tiger" where the traits of Agent Hobbes are compared to that of a tiger one by one, using classic Hobbes quotes as proof.

In a more real-life section called "Meet the Honeys", you get to find out who some of the Hobbes Honeys are, why they dig Hobbes and what they look like (though you'll notice that some of them seem to have come to us from Toon Town :)

Before you leave, don't forget to sign the guest book and let the web designers know how much you enjoy the site!

Got a great Invisible Man web site? Tell us about it. Send e-mail to imannewsletter@yahoo.com

SOUND OFF!
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

In this section of the newsletter we offer all of you the opportunity to give us your opinion on various Invisible Man subjects.

Before we get into the new topic, let's check out the results of the last "Sound Off". If you remember, I asked you to choose your favorite Darien shirt: the tight orange number, his Barfly t-shirt, the more formal white button-down shirt, the V-neck t-shirts, or the gas station attendant shirt.

All of the shirts got votes (yes, even the gas station attendant shirt) but it came down to a photo finish with the V-neck tees barely beating out the tight orange shirt.

As CounterAgent put it, "There is just something about him in those shirts!!! Hot!"

New Topic:
What is your favorite I-Man residence? Is it Darien's darker apartment with red brick interior and silver kitchen complete with cool glass-doored fridge (there must have been a sale on those as there's one in the keep as well)? Or do you prefer Claire's two-level brighter apartment containing a bedroom upstairs with room enough for a couch and dance floor? Perhaps you're more into Hobbes' apartment with its stark contrast of white and black decor (with a few trinkets like guns hanging on the walls, 5 very nice televisions and two great computers)? Or do like the duality of Arnaud's Hacienda with its Spanish style home upstairs but all bricks and high tech compound in the basement?

You can Sound Off by sending your choice (as difficult as it may be, please choose only one) to imannewsletter@yahoo.com by March 26th and be sure to put the words "Sound Off" in the subject of your email.
