A WORD FROM THE FOUNDERS
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

Greetings fellow I-Maniacs!
First I want to send a great big THANK YOU to both Susan and Gina for putting together such an awesome newsletter. I will certainly be looking forward to getting this in my mailbox! Now, down to business:

I am still accepting name submissions for what you believe the "club" should be called. With the possibility of copyright infringement with the use of The Invisible Man, we don't want to take any chances. If you have an idea for the "official" name of the club, submit it to me and I'll make a note of it. When we get sanction, Helena and I will then go over the names and make the final selection.

I am also accepting design specs for our future T-Shirts. So far, ShelBel has submitted some wonderful ideas (thanks Shel!). If you want to get in on the action, e-mail me your ideas and, again, I'll hang on to them until we get the order going on our shirts.

We now have a billboard where fans can go to post questions, concerns and what not. You can find the addy at http://members2.boardhost.com/InvisibleMan (thanks to Shel again!). I'll check in frequently to answer any relevant posts.

Also want to send out a great big thanks to Nebula30, Fawkesgirl13, RileyGirl, Lonegirl189 and Gina for their continued great work on the website.

The next club meeting will be held on Saturday September 23rd at 9pm .... (HA!! Yea right! Just checking to see who's paying attention! LOL)

Stacey

A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHERS
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

If you are receiving this newsletter then you are one of the growing masses who know that seeing isn't believing. Welcome to "The Invisible Man Fan Club". This is the official club newsletter that will arrive in your e-mail box every two weeks. We, Susan (also known as planetsuz) and Gina, are currently serving as writers and editors of the newsletter.

You got in on the ground floor of the club. Congratulations! Here's what you can expect from future newsletters from the club:
*Each newsletter will include a message from the club founders, Brenda and Stacey (a.k.a. Helena and R2, respectively) as well as a message from the publishers.
*A section will include updates on the last e-meeting of the club so people who couldn't attend can get caught up on club news.
*Members of the club will also be updated on happenings and events as well as progress on the official status of the club with The Powers That Be (a.k.a. TPTB). This is an exciting process and will possibly lead to special opportunities for club members only. Keep reading as this process continues.
*Also, each issue the newsletter will turn the spotlight on great Invisible Man web sites made by fans and club members. We want the newsletter to be a fun part of the club.

At the moment, we are confined to the limitations of a text-only version of the newsletter. However, we plan to expand the newsletter in the future. Stay tuned.

We want the newsletter to be a fun part of the club. Comments and suggestions are appreciated. Send them to imannewsletter@yahoo.com.

Gina & Susan

WHAT IS THE FAN CLUB AND HOW DID IT START?
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

The fan club started from musings during a chat session between Stacey and Brenda. The suggestion popped up in their conversation that it would be fun if the members of the bboard and chat room could get together and meet face to face. This evolved into the conclusion that the best place to meet would be at next year's Comic Con where it is hoped that the cast and crew may appear again.

But how do you organize a large group of zealous fans for a one-time event, making sure everyone who wants to go has all the latest information? A fan club! If the club gets organized now, things will go much smoother by the time the Comic Con rolls around.

Currently the fan club has an unofficial status but the goal is to get the approval from TPTB to be allowed to remove the "un" from that title. Either way, it's going to be a great club!

FAN CLUB PROGRESS
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

The fan club has had 1-1/2 meetings in the chat room (the 1/2 is because one was held right before a new episode of our beloved show making it difficult to keep our minds on the meeting). The meetings produced a web site committee, which has created the official site of the fan club at http://www.geocities.com/imanfanclub. This is THE place to go to get all the latest news and to find out who your fellow fan club members are. The meetings also produced a newsletter committee, which has written exactly one newsletter so far (you're reading it!)

As for the quest for official status, Stacey has obtained the address and phone number for Stu Segall Productions and she and Brenda are contacting as many people as they can to get our name and intentions out there and to try to find out exactly what we need to do and how many members we need to have to become official. They are also checking into the laws on copyright infringement so that we don't step on any toes.

The fan club is in its infancy and already we have 63 members and that number is growing every day. So, what can you do to help? We thought you'd never ask! One thing you can do is spread the word about the club. Tell your friends, post on general sci-fi bulletin boards and newsgroups, MalteseHobbes suggested tackling passersby on the street corner, but we think that might not be the best way to persuade people to join :) Another thing you can do is if you have any info on connections at Sci-Fi or USA (or if Stu Segall is your uncle), please let us know.

SPOTLIGHT ON:
The Invisible Man Fan Club web site
<*><*><*><*><*><*>

If you haven't taken a look at the official club web site go ahead and stop by. The home page greets you with an audio file of the Invisible Man opening monologue and theme music as well as a great picture of the cast of TIM at the San Diego Comic Con in July 2000. On other pages you'll find a welcome letter from the club's founders Brenda and Stacey, agendas and notes from previous club e-meetings, and a list of club members.

Don't forget to check the counter at the bottom of the home page to remind you when the next episode of The Invisible Man is on (as if you don't know already!). There's no doubt that as the fan club grows this page will serve as the center for club news and goings on. Check it out!

Got a great Invisible Man web site? Tell us about it. Send e-mail to imannewsletter@yahoo.com.
