<MrsSpooky> yaay
<KatrynSedai> We're going in alphabetical order tonight, starting with "A". MrsSpooky will pm you to see if you have a question. If you do, she'll let me know, so I can call on you.
<KatrynSedai> I'll give you a "voice" so you can ask Paul your question
<KatrynSedai> Ok everyone -- Paul's with us!
<Snowtiger> ?
<Snowtiger> ok
<PaulBenVictor> Hi evveryone! Invisible Mom here in disguise
<KatrynSedai> do we have a first question, mrs spooky?
<PaulBenVictor> I won't bore you with a long introduction because I know you all want to start chatting with Paul
* MrsSpooky is flatfooted
<PaulBenVictor> I just want to remind everyone that our favorite actor is going to be on The Wire - HBO this Sunday at 10PM
<PaulBenVictor> So come out and catch his new show!
<PaulBenVictor> We are ready to start. First question.
<KatrynSedai> behtanati, you're first
<PaulBenVictor> Before we start Paul wants to say something
<PaulBenVictor> Hey gang
<PaulBenVictor> thanks for coming out
<PaulBenVictor> You guys make me feel like a rock star
<PaulBenVictor> thanks for coming out and I hope everyone is doing good.
<PaulBenVictor> First question
<Bethenati> Hi Paul, thank you for coming. Have you enjoyed your work on The Wire?
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Beth
<PaulBenVictor> yes, yes, yes
<PaulBenVictor> its been an incredible few months
<PaulBenVictor> of shooting but mostly I've had a lot of down time
<PaulBenVictor> that I've been spending in NYC
<PaulBenVictor> working on some other projects
<PaulBenVictor> so generally speaking its been a blast
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> BobbysBabe, you're next
<BobbysBabe> Hi Paul, thanks for coming and big thanks for the great DVD interview you did. I wanted to ask you another project we've heard about if you mom's play can you tell us about that?
<BobbysBabe> Also SuzyH in England wants to say Hi to you, too!
<PaulBenVictor> Glad you enjoyed the DVD
<PaulBenVictor> I haven't seen it yet
<BobbysBabe> It was fantastic
<PaulBenVictor> but Vinny, Mike and myself had a good time getting drunk making it
<BobbysBabe> I laughed so hard I cried
<PaulBenVictor> The time here in New York
<PaulBenVictor> has given me the time to develop this play with my mom
<PaulBenVictor> that looks to be really exciting new play
<PaulBenVictor> and its called The Good Steno
<PaulBenVictor> I will be directing the production when it gets off the ground
<PaulBenVictor> and I'm also in it as well
<PaulBenVictor> playing another horrible, dispicable human being
<BobbysBabe> Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOO
<PaulBenVictor> um and its very funny and very excitint
<PaulBenVictor> and we did a reading that was very successful
<PaulBenVictor> we did a staged reading in the city that was very successful
<PaulBenVictor> we plan to do another one in the future
<PaulBenVictor> we will let you guys know about it if it is open to the public
<PaulBenVictor> to be determined
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Suzy in England!
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Suzy, I have a question for you later about IMAN in England
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> Dariens_Muse, you're next
<Dariens_Muse> Hi Paul, it's great that you could come here tonight! I couldn't think of a question, so I just want to say hi from over here in The Netherlands (at 3:30 in the morning...)
<PaulBenVictor> WoW!
<PaulBenVictor> How cool is that?
<PaulBenVictor> What town are you in?
<Dariens_Muse> I doubt you'd know it, but I'm from Castricum.
<PaulBenVictor> It is very exciting to be chatting with you overseas
<Dariens_Muse> same here!
<PaulBenVictor> and um IMAN playing there?
<Dariens_Muse> They show it on Saturdays here. Though sometimes they skip it a couple weeks...
<PaulBenVictor> Thanks for tuning in
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> Anita, go ahead
<AnitaLife> Hi Paul! Thanks for chatting with us! And thanks for Roses in December. Terrific seeing you live with great material too!
<PaulBenVictor> Do you have a question?
<PaulBenVictor> Thanks for coming to the play.
<AnitaLife> Our pleasure!
<PaulBenVictor> It was great to have you guys come down and support the theater
<PaulBenVictor> Hopefully there will be another play soon to come and see
<PaulBenVictor> and have you all come down
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> DrMel, you're next
<DrMel> Hi Paul. Thanks for joining us tonight. I don't exactly know what to ask but, here goes. Do you miss working with Vince and the rest of the cast? I would consider them family if I were to work with them for two years. So really, Do you ever just find yourself wanting to pick up the phone and call Vince or anyone else? (Argh I know that's two questions ;)) Big ups to NYers!
<PaulBenVictor> First of all Vinny and I are very good friends
<PaulBenVictor> so we talk every couple of weeks
<DrMel> Aww that's sweet :D
<PaulBenVictor> just um we remained good friends over the last few years
<PaulBenVictor> and um for me
<PaulBenVictor> I don't usually miss doing a show
<PaulBenVictor> the memories are very fulfilling in and of themselves
<PaulBenVictor> and you guys all remembering
<DrMel> *nods* Would you consider working with anyone of the cast again?
<PaulBenVictor> and keeping this show alive
<DrMel> Even if on a different project?
<PaulBenVictor> in your hearts
<PaulBenVictor> just keeps that memory all the more fresh
<PaulBenVictor> for me as well
<PaulBenVictor> and that is very fulfilling
<PaulBenVictor> but once you do
<PaulBenVictor> well generally when I finish a project
<PaulBenVictor> I am usually focused on doing the next one
<PaulBenVictor> and I definitely got a nice full run with Bobby Hobbes
<PaulBenVictor> I would very much look forward working with everyone in the cast again
<PaulBenVictor> on something new and exciting
<PaulBenVictor> I would love to work with Vince for sure
<DrMel> Great. :)
<PaulBenVictor> and of course there was just tremendous chemistry
<PaulBenVictor> with the whole ensemble
<PaulBenVictor> so I would love to work with any of the cast on any project in the future
<PaulBenVictor> and I'm sure we will
<PaulBenVictor> that seems to happen over time
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> FawkesGirl, you're up
<FawkesGirl> Hi Paul, greetings from the part of Canada no one visits. :) I'd like to know who was the biggest practical joker on any set you've been on, and what was the most memorable prank/funny moment for you. :) Thanks.
<PaulBenVictor> Let's see, let's see
<PaulBenVictor> there was a real screwball in a play I did once
<PaulBenVictor> called Robbers in the Seattle Rep Theater
<PaulBenVictor> I'm trying to think what was the best one
<PaulBenVictor> wait a minute, let me think
<PaulBenVictor> this guy would
<PaulBenVictor> I would be off stage in the wings
<PaulBenVictor> waiting for my cue to go on
<PaulBenVictor> and I knew I had a few scenes to go on
<PaulBenVictor> and he would run up behind me real quick and say
<PaulBenVictor> Paul Paul you're missing your cue
<PaulBenVictor> get on stage
<PaulBenVictor> you're on you're on
<PaulBenVictor> and one time I actually ran on for half a second then ran back
<PaulBenVictor> that guy had a screw loose
<FawkesGirl> aw what a sin!
<PaulBenVictor> but it was really funny.
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> Chatters, we're not really going out of order -- some folks had trouble with their pm messages to MrsSpooky
<KatrynSedai> Bravogabbo, you're turn
<KatrynSedai> Bravo, I can come back to you.
<KatrynSedai> Coldfire, your turn
<Bravogabbo> Yay! Hi, Paul! Thanks so much for agreeing to the chat. I have seen you in a few different roles now, and I wonder what is your favorite type of character to play? Good or bad? Straight arrow or screw Up?
<Bravogabbo> oops
<KatrynSedai> go ahead, bravo
<Bravogabbo> did my question go through?
<PaulBenVictor> Ah
<KatrynSedai> yes
<PaulBenVictor> Let's see
<PaulBenVictor> I think my favorite ones that come to mind
<PaulBenVictor> are Moe from the 3 Stooges
<PaulBenVictor> which I'm not sure you've all seen
<PaulBenVictor> it was challenging
<PaulBenVictor> and it was so much stuff to do
<PaulBenVictor> the whole emotional gamut
<PaulBenVictor> emotional range
<PaulBenVictor> and ah from comedy to you know to some very deep emotional places
<PaulBenVictor> to go so that was a stand out as one of the best
<Bravogabbo> well, no I missed that one, sorry. But I caught "Daredevil".
<PaulBenVictor> a rich character to play
<PaulBenVictor> especially legendary to portray
<PaulBenVictor> so that was a real blast
<Bravogabbo> Thank you so much.
<PaulBenVictor> um after that there was a few others that I enjoyed
<PaulBenVictor> Robbers I enjoyed
<Bravogabbo> yes?
<PaulBenVictor> A Puerto Rican guy I played
<PaulBenVictor> both endearing character
<PaulBenVictor> a street guy
<PaulBenVictor> and then there was
<PaulBenVictor> of course Bobby Hobbes
<PaulBenVictor> Can't forget Bobby
<Bravogabbo> of course!
<PaulBenVictor> that was just a 3 ring circus
<PaulBenVictor> playing Bobby Hobbes
<PaulBenVictor> especially the first season
<PaulBenVictor> um this new role in The Wire
<PaulBenVictor> is challenging because there are like 60 cast members in the show
<PaulBenVictor> so there is this huge ongoing little movie that is going on each week
<PaulBenVictor> with this ton of characters flowing through the story
<PaulBenVictor> this character is a challenge for me
<PaulBenVictor> I needed to find an accent for him
<PaulBenVictor> a Greek accent
<PaulBenVictor> it isn't very pronounced int he first episode
<PaulBenVictor> he is very powerful, manipulative
<PaulBenVictor> I play him with tremendous subtlety
<PaulBenVictor> very little bravado
<PaulBenVictor> little physicality
<PaulBenVictor> so it's been very very interesting playing him
<PaulBenVictor> I look forward to doing this for another season
<PaulBenVictor> um hopefully you will all check it out the next few weeks
<PaulBenVictor> next week, the second week, I highly recommend
<PaulBenVictor> it ends with a pretty intense, dramatic somewhat gory ending
<PaulBenVictor> that I am responsible for
<PaulBenVictor> so I hope you will stay tuned to check him out
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> Coldfire, ga
<Bravogabbo> I will if I can. In case I don't get to tell you again, thanks!
<Coldfire> Hello from Brisbane, Australia Paul! My sisters and I *loved* IMan. Hope you're well. Thanks for being here! You're awesome! Those DVD interviews were awesome too so thanks for spending the time doing that and being here. I hope I get to meet you when I come to the U.S. next year. =) I wish I could have seen 'Roses'. I just have an IMan question.
<PaulBenVictor> I love it! Australia!
<Coldfire> I know you've probably been asked this. I was trying to think of a better question! ;-) Being on the "inside" of the industry, is there anything we can do that we aren't doing at the moment to try to get IMan back, short of ambushing the SciFi building? Hold on- would ambushing the SciFi building work? =) I was thinking that if we knew the *real* reason for the cancellation, perhaps our arguments for getting it back would b
<PaulBenVictor> Um
<PaulBenVictor> I don't want to cause any riots
<Coldfire> =D
<PaulBenVictor> I don
<PaulBenVictor> I don't want to encourage anyone to ambush a building
<PaulBenVictor> but um
<PaulBenVictor> but no, I think the show is pretty much history at this point
<PaulBenVictor> You never know what writer's can come up with'
<PaulBenVictor> what is in store for the future
<PaulBenVictor> and what might happen in terms of a reunion show down the road
<PaulBenVictor> um I can almost envision
<Coldfire> I've got my fingers VERY crossed.
<PaulBenVictor> some sort of comeback performance of IMAN
<PaulBenVictor> at some point
<Coldfire> brilliant.
<PaulBenVictor> but highly unlikely in the very near future
<Coldfire> oh no!
<PaulBenVictor> they just didn't quite know what to do there at Scifi
<PaulBenVictor> lots of inside problems that I wasn't even aware of
<PaulBenVictor> I would love to play Bobby Hobbes again but
<Coldfire> You played a brilliant Bobby
<PaulBenVictor> in a TV movie form or a feature film form
<PaulBenVictor> I probably wouldn't want to do another Scifi series right now
<PaulBenVictor> If IMAN was on
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<Coldfire> I wish I could see 'The Wire' here in Brisbane, it sounds entertaining. Good Luck with it and I just know you're going to be great. Take Care.
<KatrynSedai> JediJaina, ga
<PaulBenVictor> I just want to say how incredible it is
<PaulBenVictor> to be talking and chatting with all of you
<PaulBenVictor> all of the world!
<JediJaina> Hi Paul! The DVD's are awesome! If there's another Invisible Man DVD in the future would you be willing to do commentary on an episode? And if so which one would you do?
<PaulBenVictor> This is mind blowing
<PaulBenVictor> and really really incredible
<PaulBenVictor> that I am actually communicating with to all you folks in all these different countries
<PaulBenVictor> and it is so exciting to know that IMAN has reached all of you
<PaulBenVictor> and personally
<PaulBenVictor> Thank you so much
<PaulBenVictor> I'm sure that The Wire will be on DVD at some point
<PaulBenVictor> HBO does a really good job of that Coldfire
<PaulBenVictor> That would be a fun thing to do
<PaulBenVictor> in fact that is a good idea
<PaulBenVictor> I can see getting together with the cast and maybe doing an audio
<JediJaina> that would rock!
<PaulBenVictor> kind of like you guys watch along
<PaulBenVictor> an episode and we could talk into a tape recorder while we watch that episode
<PaulBenVictor> sort of like home grown behind the scenes commentating
<PaulBenVictor> The episode I would choose
<PaulBenVictor> I think maybe JediJaina sparked an interesting idea
<PaulBenVictor> I could talk to Vinny about it
<JediJaina> oh wow
<PaulBenVictor> Pretty much anything first season
<PaulBenVictor> It hurts, Flowers for Hobbes, Diseased
<PaulBenVictor> I could do several episodes
<PaulBenVictor> One of my favorite scenes in Diseased is when I came in spraying that spray can
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> Yaeli, your turn
<Yaeli> Hi Paul, thank for coming. can't really thing of a question, just wanted to say a big hello from Israel, and good luck with everything:)
<Yaeli> *think
<PaulBenVictor> Thank you so much
<PaulBenVictor> so nice to know that
<PaulBenVictor> IMAN has reached you way over in the great country of Israel
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<Yaeli> thank you
<Yaeli> :)
<KatrynSedai> Kitkat, you're up
<Kitkat> Thanks for being here tonight Paul! Do you plan to be in San Diego in July for Comic-con this year? Would be awesome to hang with you again! And you should call Vinny now and get him on conference call! LOL
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Kitkat
<PaulBenVictor> sorry I won't be able to attend Comicon this year
<PaulBenVictor> I will still be in NYC/Baltimore shooting The Wire through July
<PaulBenVictor> and I can't believe that you just said to get Vinny on the phone
<PaulBenVictor> because that is exactly what I was about to do
<PaulBenVictor> How did you know?
<Kitkat> heehee
<PaulBenVictor> It was supposed to be a surprise!
<Kitkat> I'm psychic
<Kitkat> call me Ms Cleo :)
<PaulBenVictor> On that note, hold on and I am going to call Vinny.
<Kitkat> yes!!!
<KatrynSedai> Once Paul gets Vinny on the phone, you're up, Lina
<Lina> Ack, I didn't know I was going to get both! *faints*
<KatrynSedai> You ready, Lina?
<Lina> Yeppers
<KatrynSedai> Vinny & Paul, you ready?
<PaulBenVictor> Hang on
<PaulBenVictor> Ladies and Gentlemen and children of all ages
<PaulBenVictor> our special guest has arrived
<PaulBenVictor> it is none other than the brilliant the wonderful and talented
<PaulBenVictor> hairball
<PaulBenVictor> as opposed to a non hairball like me
<PaulBenVictor> Vinny Ventresca
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Vince
<VincentVentresca> Hi everybody!
<VincentVentresca> What is going on?
<PaulBenVictor> YO
<PaulBenVictor> What's up?
<Lina> I'll say hi for everyone who can't talk...;)
<PaulBenVictor> Vinny has had 12 babies in the 2 years
<PaulBenVictor> so Vince
<PaulBenVictor> We are talking around the world right now
<VincentVentresca> I can't get my head around it
<VincentVentresca> and these are all IMAN fans
<VincentVentresca> so they are seeing the show
<VincentVentresca> I guess I knew it
<PaulBenVictor> I guess they are watching it now
<VincentVentresca> unbelieveable
<PaulBenVictor> We will take questions for Vince now also
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> Lina, ga
<Lina> Hi guys, thank you so much for doing this, it really means a lot to us fans. Speaking of which, have either of you thought about coming to Imanicon 2003 in Chicago in October? <insert formal invitation here> I know there are so many of us that aren’t fortunate enough to meet you in person.
<VincentVentresca> I can try
<PaulBenVictor> But he has 15 babies
<PaulBenVictor> He can't go anywhere he has 18 babies
<PaulBenVictor> He has to shoot movies in his kitchen so he can feed his babies
<Lina> How about you Paul?
<VincentVentresca> My little girl is wonderful
<VincentVentresca> the only bummer is she gets up at 5:15 in the morning
<VincentVentresca> We will be doing a movie it is only a matter of time
<VincentVentresca> I don't have any doubts about that
<VincentVentresca> I think the people who originally did it will do it in the next 5 years
<PaulBenVictor> Well I will follow you wherever you go my friend
<PaulBenVictor> What did I say when I shook your hand on the set that day
<PaulBenVictor> I love you man
<VincentVentresca> I was a really great show
<Lina> *hands out tissues*
<VincentVentresca> Yes, lately
<VincentVentresca> I got my fix
<VincentVentresca> I will try to go to Imanicon if Paul goes.
<VincentVentresca> GA
<KatrynSedai> Lori, your turn
<lori_swanson> Hi Paul! Hi Vince! Paul, I wanted to ask about The Wire. How did you end up getting cast, and can you give us some background on your character? Any memorable lines or moments that stand out so far?
<PaulBenVictor> Swannie, you have to love Swannie
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Lori
<lori_swanson> hi :)
<PaulBenVictor> First I want to say Wow, thank you for doing such an amazing job on the website
<PaulBenVictor> Vinny, she did an amazing job
<PaulBenVictor> I looked at it recently and it is fantastic
<VincentVentresca> How do I see it?
<lori_swanson> oh no, i"m blushing
<PaulBenVictor> Vinny, you go to a computer
<VincentVentresca> I can do that
<VincentVentresca> Is it PBVOnline
<PaulBenVictor> I think it is PaulBenVictorOnline
<PaulBenVictor> Anyway, how did I get cast
<PaulBenVictor> This is important
<PaulBenVictor> The casting director you know
<PaulBenVictor> I guess suggested me for the part to the producers
<PaulBenVictor> and they sent over my reel and over a few weeks time there was
<PaulBenVictor> some hemming and hawing and stuff like that but ultimately I was offered the role
<PaulBenVictor> after the executives at HBO saw my reel
<PaulBenVictor> Vinny can tell you it is a real treat not to have to audition
<PaulBenVictor> And one of the most memorable moments of my whole life is the second episode
<PaulBenVictor> You have seen me die in so many movies now I get to return the favor
<VincentVentresca> What did you do?
<PaulBenVictor> I don't want to give it away
<lori_swanson> thanks Paul!
<pipsqueak119> Hi, guys! Both of you are incredibly wonderful for chatting with us. And Paul, greetings from a fellow native New Yawker! ;-p I'm really looking forward to the Wire! It's a great show, perfect for the kind of immediacy you bring to your characters.
<pipsqueak119> And now the essay portion of the test: If each of you had to cast each other in the Wizard of Oz, which character would you choose and why?
<pipsqueak119> P.S. KitKat says Hi to Vinny too! :-)
<PaulBenVictor> So it is one of my favorite moments ever
<VincentVentresca> you are sick
<PaulBenVictor> well you know, it was just cool
<VincentVentresca> What you die all the time?
<PaulBenVictor> Just about every movie. In Daredevil, I get cut in half by a train, strangled on the subway track
<VincentVentresca> If you were doing Invisible Man, you wouldn't have been in Daredevil or The Wire
<PaulBenVictor> But thank you Lori for those questions.
<PaulBenVictor> What I want to say before people go to sleep, The Wire has a chatroom
<PaulBenVictor> and the producers really do totally go to the chatroom after every show
<PaulBenVictor> so I humbly invite you to go and logon the next few episodes and if you feel so inclined
<PaulBenVictor> to chime in and put in a nice word for me, that would be great.
<PaulBenVictor> I hate to self promote
<PaulBenVictor> But they really do write the characters according to the fans support
<PaulBenVictor> so do your thing guys.
<PaulBenVictor> It is getting great reviews coast to coast
<PaulBenVictor> it is a very intelligent smart show.
<VincentVentresca> I can't wait to see it. They are really promoting it.
<PaulBenVictor> It's nice to be a part of that.
<PaulBenVictor> It is really nice to be part of a show that the studio is behind.
<PaulBenVictor> GA
<KatrynSedai> pip, ga and restate your question
<pipsqueak119> Hi, guys! Both of you are incredibly wonderful for chatting with us. And Paul, greetings from a fellow native New Yawker! ;-p I'm really looking forward to the Wire! It's a great show, perfect for the kind of immediacy you bring to your characters.
<pipsqueak119> And now the essay portion of the test: If each of you had to cast each other in the Wizard of Oz, which character would you choose and why?
<pipsqueak119> P.S. KitKat says Hi to Vinny too! :-)
<PaulBenVictor> Gotta love that Vinny
<VincentVentresca> That is a great question
<PaulBenVictor> You go first Vinny
<VincentVentresca> Definitely the Lion
<PaulBenVictor> Woof
<pipsqueak119> LOL
<VincentVentresca> Why are you the lion though
<PaulBenVictor> Ironically, I hate to admit this
<PaulBenVictor> but when I was 4 or 5 at camp
<PaulBenVictor> I was frickin toto
<VincentVentresca> You're kidding
<PaulBenVictor> I didn't even do him for the whole show
<PaulBenVictor> I switched with another kids
<PaulBenVictor> I was totl
<PaulBenVictor> totl
<PaulBenVictor> toto
<PaulBenVictor> I can't believe I am admitting this
<PaulBenVictor> Now Vinny has to be the scarecrow
<VincentVentresca> I can't believe you said that
<PaulBenVictor> I can totally see you all filled with hay
<PaulBenVictor> your head filled with stuffin
<PaulBenVictor> in your head you'd be thinking you could be another Lincolm if you only had a brain
<pipsqueak119> LOL -- Cool! Thanks!
<VincentVentresca> I can't sing but we could try it.
<PaulBenVictor> Great question Pippy from New York
<PaulBenVictor> gA
<KatrynSedai> Oboe, go ahead!
<OboeCrazy> Hi guys, it's great to chat with you again! You've recently performed in movies, television, and (for Paul) in live theater. Comparing the three, can you tell us the joys and problems they present as an actor? Also, what's your favorite and why? BTW, R2 says HI and she wishes she could be here!
<PaulBenVictor> R2 ole R2
<PaulBenVictor> leaving us hanging Vinny
<OboeCrazy> She REALLY wanted to come, but can't.
<VincentVentresca> Do they live in the same city now?
<PaulBenVictor> I don't think so
<PaulBenVictor> What do you think Vin?
<VincentVentresca> Homestly I am less nervous in front of a camera
<VincentVentresca> People make me nervous
<PaulBenVictor> real people, live people make you nervous
<PaulBenVictor> I get nervous
<PaulBenVictor> I get sick to my stomach nervous
<VincentVentresca> some people like that but I don't like that
<PaulBenVictor> Well, I have to think about if money wasn't involved
<PaulBenVictor> so I have to put that aside
<PaulBenVictor> I love you know working the crowd of camera work
<PaulBenVictor> tv and film
<PaulBenVictor> especially doing a show like IMAN for 2 years
<PaulBenVictor> you grow by leaps and bounds
<PaulBenVictor> right Vinny
<VincentVentresca> yeah
<PaulBenVictor> you learn how to hit your marks
<PaulBenVictor> how to perform and develop a scene in front of a camera
<PaulBenVictor> a great feeling of accomplishment
<PaulBenVictor> especially when you get on another set and you feel like you have had more camera time than others
<PaulBenVictor> but the immediate rush of being on stage and hitting certain
<PaulBenVictor> i have think comedic knowledge, getting the audience to laugh at what you want them to
<PaulBenVictor> is probably the greatest rush for me
<PaulBenVictor> it is pretty cool.
<PaulBenVictor> but I do also want to puke before I go on stage from nervousness
<PaulBenVictor> terrifying
<OboeCrazy> And both of you are quite good at it
<PaulBenVictor> but the second I am on stage it is wonderful
<PaulBenVictor> how was that Vinny?
<VincentVentresca> I agree
<VincentVentresca> I remember when I was doing plays it was weird
<VincentVentresca> I would get nervous all day until 8PM
<VincentVentresca> You know what this means? I should probably do a play
<PaulBenVictor> I really feel it in NY
<PaulBenVictor> wanting to do a play
<PaulBenVictor> Austin Pendelton wonderful actor
<OboeCrazy> Together again, live on stage?
<PaulBenVictor> he does other things to support his theater habit
<PaulBenVictor> he will go anywhere to play a role
<PaulBenVictor> I think I would do that one day
<PaulBenVictor> Maybe in Pittsburgh to do Richard the 3rd
<PaulBenVictor> But I am thinking of taking 6 months to do a couple of parts
<PaulBenVictor> I would love to do that
<PaulBenVictor> Vinny you want to?
<VincentVentresca> I'm married, I have kids. I think about doing that but
<PaulBenVictor> he has 15 kids and they all have to eat
<VincentVentresca> I got offered a movie in Bulgaria but I had to leave in 3 days
<OboeCrazy> Bulgaira?!
<VincentVentresca> Did you know that Craig Silverstein did a pilot for UPN and so did I
<VincentVentresca> We will know in 2 weeks if either show will be picked up
<VincentVentresca> It is literally down to 3 shows
<VincentVentresca> The other show is directed by Gred Yantaines
<OboeCrazy> Any details?
<VincentVentresca> Vince had to say goodbye. He will try to get chat with the fan club again.
<PaulBenVictor> One more question guys then I have to get back to the books.
<KatrynSedai> MrsSpooky, your turn
<MrsSpooky> sigh
<MrsSpooky> missed out on my comment to Vince
<MrsSpooky> Paul, what can you tell us about your character in The Wire?
<MrsSpooky> I can't wait to see you in that show!
<PaulBenVictor> Hey MrsSpook
<PaulBenVictor> um well
<PaulBenVictor> I play Spiros Vondas
<PaulBenVictor> and I am the managing partner of an underground criminal enterprise
<PaulBenVictor> I am second in command to a character called the Greek
<PaulBenVictor> I am his right hand man
<PaulBenVictor> and it is very subdued underplayed
<PaulBenVictor> very quiet internal guy
<PaulBenVictor> and which is sort of a little bit of a difference for me
<PaulBenVictor> as you guys know
<MrsSpooky> LOL
<PaulBenVictor> I am generally noisy
<PaulBenVictor> it is really a pleasure to be playing a guy I think is much more low profile
<MrsSpooky> yes, not exactly one foot on a rollerskate, other foot on the banana peel
<MrsSpooky> Can't wait, Paul!
<PaulBenVictor> and I just have this inner power and hopefully he will be a popular character with the fans
<PaulBenVictor> so that I will stay on for the 3rd season as well.
<PaulBenVictor> so hopefully
<PaulBenVictor> spread the word
<PaulBenVictor> get into the chatroom on there
<MrsSpooky> we will
<KatrynSedai> time for one more question, paul?
<PaulBenVictor> and have fun.
<PaulBenVictor> one more question
<KatrynSedai> suzyh - ga
<suzyh> Hi Paul, good morning from England!
<PaulBenVictor> Hey Suzy!
<suzyh> My son Eddie is 4 1/2 and quite the actor, I was wondering, apart from playing Toto that is, when you realized that you wanted to act and is it something I should encourage?
<PaulBenVictor> Well I never want to influence parental decisions
<PaulBenVictor> that's why I'm not a parent
<suzyh> LOL
<PaulBenVictor> like that responsibility
<PaulBenVictor> so that's your call mom
<suzyh> well he always goes for that Oscar
<PaulBenVictor> but I think it is definitely a great thing to do and encourage if it is for fun
<PaulBenVictor> and for creative expression and growth
<PaulBenVictor> To do it as a profession is another ballgame
<PaulBenVictor> I think that there was always an actor in me lying dormant
<PaulBenVictor> I was very expressive but I never really thought of it as a profession until college
<PaulBenVictor> when I was sort of recruited into the acting department and I was asked
<PaulBenVictor> to act in a couple of one act plays
<PaulBenVictor> I got the bug and never turned back
<suzyh> did you want to ask about Iman in England?
<PaulBenVictor> Thank you all for showing up for the chat and supporting me and my endeavors in this crazy business
<PaulBenVictor> I really enjoyed this and staying in touch with all of you
<PaulBenVictor> enjoy the reruns and I am going to talk to Mike and Vinny about the idea
<PaulBenVictor> of doing the audio tape
<PaulBenVictor> it will be a real easy thing to do
<PaulBenVictor> maybe a DVD also.
<ShelBel> Can I say something real quick?
<PaulBenVictor> People can watch the show and listed to us talking about behind the scenes stuff
<PaulBenVictor> outtakes etc.
<PaulBenVictor> look forward to that
<KatrynSedai> ga shel
<PaulBenVictor> I will see if we can get that done in the next 6 months or year
<ShelBel> Hey Paul! It's ShellyBel! You know, the chick whose cell phone you yelled into. ::wink:: Just wanted to say "HEY!" from Minnesota, and we love ya! Tell Vinny the same if you get the chance!
<PaulBenVictor> But thank you all for being out there
<ShelBel> That's it. :)
<PaulBenVictor> and let me know what you think about The Wire
<PaulBenVictor> My first episode is not much but the 2nd and 3rd one are juicy.
<PaulBenVictor> I think they skip one
<PaulBenVictor> I will leave some information on my website

<CritterKeeper> Hi, Paul! Greetings from Chicagoland! You've had quite a career, working on productions with everyone from Kim Basinger and Brad Pitt (Cool World) to NYPD Blue. Who was your favorite actor or group of actors to work directly with (*other* than I-man), who made you go ga-ga "I can't believe I'm in the same room with ____", and where is your favorite place to work (city, coast, etc)?
